Not sure if these bridge planks are original, but I thought the wood grain was unique.

Well, today I had some friends come down to join me on my trip to Gateway Bmw in ST louis. 1 friend had a new BMW K1600 GTL and another had a Harley Road Glide. As per usual my 19 year old ST1100 made a fine account of itself easily keeping up with the BMW and Harley. When we left this morning it was 49 degrees F outside. I forgot over the winter months how good the wind protection was on this bike. How good and smooth it was working for a "old school" bike. When we got there my friends were egging me on to test ride the demo BMW RT1250 shift cam. I just shrugged my shoulder. Then came the sales people with one commenting I ought to trade in my old relic and they would make me one heck of a deal. I said why? They told me all the latest new gizmo's and upgrades I would be gaining. I calmly told them yeah that is all good but how would your bike be holding up in 19 years.......they looked puzzled I said that. I just can't part with my old "relic: right now because on our ride around Missouri this bike still bring me pleasure.

We did a short 63 mile ride to lunch at the Vanilla Bean with our son, on his Valkyrie.
We haven't been there in a while, and it was a good time

Rode down to the Iron Pony store in Westerville,Oh. Haven't been there is some time since I get most of my stuff on line. Of course had to stop at Cracker Barrel first.
It has changed a lot since the last time I was there. They have 5 dealerships under one roof in the store now. Indian, Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha and the Chinese brand ??.
They had 2 GW's - One GW tour and one GW (bagger) both DCT models.
The thing that is worrisome to me is I really did not see any bikes that interest me more than my current ST.

Took the Honda ST out again today for some great back road riding, I rode around Santa Barbara County and San Luis Obispo County. Just over 245 miles and the weather was not bad. Here are a few pictures.
I am so jealous- you have some of the most scenic riding anywhere. We are still mostly brown around here waiting on Mr. Winter to go bye , bye.
Seriously - great pics----

Rode 155 miles in Tuolumne County California today. High of 73, low of 53 at 6000 ft. with snow lining the sides of the road. Stopped at Pincrest Lake and at the road closure point on Hwy 108.

No riding for me yet. A couple of reasons though. Another 15cm of snow just got dumped on the driveway. But I don’t have to shovel as I’m on vacation in Bali right now so not overly upset.

Yesterday.....I did a 120 mile loop. Had a craving for steak after being stopped in a construction zone for a few minutes:)

Shuey invited me to join him on a 150 mile roundtrip ride today over to Barber Marina in south Alabama to view the beautiful marina. But mostly to visit Bamahenge (a replica of Stonehenge), a few dinosaur replicas, a giant spider, 4 knight statues, and a lady in the lake! It was a beautiful day with temps reaching almost 80. We also had lunch at Pirates Cove Marina & Restaurant in Josephine, AL.

Now looking forward to our RTE in Tallahassee this Saturday at Bradley's Country Store!

Certainly praying for those of you in the path of this nasty April blizzard moving across the country!

Always a day behind;) Rode just under 200 miles with my wife yesterday. Mostly through farm country. Enjoyed time alone with my wife while grandma spent time with our 6 children. Also picked up and dropped wild card photos:)

We had a great autumn day on Saturday, aside from a bit of wind it was a cracker. I took the 1300 out to explore the top end of the Coromandel Peninsular, which from home gave me a nice 400km/5 hour round trip to Otautu Bay and back. I could have gone further along the dirt road and another 30km would have got me right to the northernmost tip, but I wimped out. Truly a spectacular part of the country, green trees, blue sea and sky and great riding roads. 238165238166238167
