Where did you ride today?

Went for a pre-ride yesterday for a local club RTE I am going to lead on Saturday. (210 miles). Had lunch at Capt Hiram's in Sebastian, FL which is the ride destination. I will be riding the GL1800 on Saturday due to the CB radio. Need that to communicate with the Drag rider so people don't get lost. Saturday's ride will be just under 300 miles as I have to meet the group in Orlando. Weather to be a high of 79 and clear following Friday's rain storm. Love Bugs were out, so the front end of the bike and my helmet were a mess.

Took a nice ride around Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo County today, temperature I saw was a high of 84 I did just over 200 miles.

I also picked up one of these!

Welcome aboard Mike. :thumb:

I agree.
I think it more informative to find out where one rides to and what they saw and how the ST performed rather than postings about 'how I longingly looked at my ST today but the weather was too'..., etc.
What do others think?
I agree. I rode to my Honda dealer yesterday to get new brakes installed, and will be riding out of central Calif. to the old route 66 and into Arizona, grand canyon, and up to southern Utah next week . My ST 1300 has always performed very well.

Welcome to the forum.
Have a great trip to the Mother Road, Grand Canyon, and southern Utah.

Sunny and 80s yesterday. Took a short 150 mile trip from Greenville SC to Clemson SC and to Hwy 11, the Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway and return. Great day fro riding.:slvr11:

Yesterday, enjoyed moving the VA-Northern and NA Wildcard tags. It turned into a beautiful day, after a cloudy and sullen start (weatherwise- I was neither cloudy nor sullen). I did find that some of the smaller roads in Loudoun County VA are not exactly ST-friendly, despite they are not exactly overburdened with traffic. Kinda sorta made me wish I had carried through on my earlier impulse to add a WeeStrom to the collection, but with careful management I managed to keep Brutus right side up all the way back to actual pavement.

Took a 240-mile ride today into the NC mountains. Stopped at a scenic rest stop that I've been wanting to check out (there's a vista up an 800-foot trail at a 6 degree grade). Explored some of the back mountain roads winding around I-26 near the NC/TN state line. Stopped for a sandwich and a glass-bottled Dr. Pepper at a little mountain convenience store. Rode back through Old Fart, NC (err... Old Fort, NC) and through some remote mountain valley roads that I'm partial to. Came back through Rutherfordton, NC, through the "horse region" near the NC/SC state line, and back to the homestead.

It was a nice day. Didn't take many pictures (sorry) because I've been on this kick lately about being in the moment, rather than taking pictures of everything like a deranged tourist.

Up to Wales to stay with a friend of 50 odd years over Easter! Food and drink MAY be involved??
Stay safe over the bank holiday period. I've seen far too many tourists in my neck of the woods driving on the WRONG side of the road while looking at their phones!!

I got out for a short 130mile ride today.

That sign aint lying... It's even more beautiful knowing the tiny farm tracks that aren't on maps, so you can avoid the influx of tourists.

Stopping to take pics, all I could hear was bird song.

I thought I was on such a road last Saturday until I tried to park up for a tag photo. Must have been ten vehicles go past, in the space of half as many minutes. Once I was moving again, I went several miles before encountering another. Go figure.

Sadly, nowhere. Stupid rain! And a whole week of it in the forecast. I swear I heard Big Red sigh sadly as I walked past her on the way to my cage this morning. :(

To our Baltimore area office the direct route, and home via a more enjoyable path. It was low 50s to high 40s morning, 80 to 83 homeward (temperatures, not mph). On the way in, moved the NA Wildcard tag.

270 miles today, first to take my 13 year old son to his checkup in Springfield. Then down south to help a friend with some work stuff. Then dropped off something for a fellow ST member. Then back home. 55° when I started, close to 90° when I got home. Not the most scenic ride all around, but about half was on back roads and was pretty fun all around:)

70 mile round trip to start work again after my mini stroke. Can have a phased return so start off part-time and work up to full time over the next couple of weeks. Rain up at Summercourt and gales just starting in West cornwall - lousy forecast for the next few days! Wind and more rain for 4 days including force 8 gales - weekend going to be a washout!!

Managed to sneak in a 50 miler Saturday. Better half was in the hospital doing battle with a nasty kidney stone. Home now. Still fighting infection. Say a prayer for her please.
