Where did you ride today?

Took a nice ride up into the high country on Sunday to escape the heat.
Up to Payson, then east to Show Low, then south on Hwy 60 through the Salt River Canyon down to Globe.
West back to Phx.
Enjoyable ride.

Managed to sneak in a 50 miler Saturday. Better half was in the hospital doing battle with a nasty kidney stone. Home now. Still fighting infection. Say a prayer for her please.
Alan
Prayers sent for your wife to 'beat' the infection.

Around 60 miles or so to DC and back

Thanks, the skies were very interesting. No Filter used either, just auto adjust for light (taken with my LG phone).

The weekend before last, I was set to do a group ride to and from the Whakamaru Dam on the Waikato river. Sadly I got a puncture about 100km in, and elected to head home for a proper repair. The fact that it was also raining helped that decision. So anyway yesterday had a good forecast, 9-19C and mostly dry, so I decided to complete the planned ride solo, and hit the road at 0930 in clear blue skies. Not long after that I hit fog, and that was a constant along with damp patches on the road for the next few hours. All was good until I attempted to follow a planned deviation off the main road, and got myself lost. It was one of those "pushing on won't be worse that turning around" moments but the road went from narrow tarseal to gravel to single-track grave to gravel with grass in the middle. In the end I probably added 90km of a very twisting gravel road to my planned 550km jaunt. What fun. Beautiful scenery, but also nerve-wracking as the road skirted some very steep valleys and there was no edge protection...

After rejoining "civilization" near the famous Waitomo Caves, the rest of the journey was spectacular with dry empty twisty roads and nice weather, along with plenty of autumnal colour. I got semi-lost again (but at least on tarseal) through the hill country around Te Miro in the Waikato, not far from where the Lord of the Rings Shire was set.

After that it was a gentle ambling run through the afternoon sunshine and home by 1730.

So 650 km covered, 90 km of that in ADV mode, but a great day out. Loving the 1300.

In Wisconsin, it was Slimey Crud Sunday. I rode to Pine Bluff ( about 50 miles ) to meet up with about a thousand other
Like minded riders. A beautiful day and lots of interesting motorcycles to look at. I did not go the extra mile to Leland as there are even more motorcycles there. Also met Nobody Special today.

Rode to work for the first time in a week due to our Oklahoma weather (see pics in previous post!) I have sure missed my wind therapy :thumb:

I got on the loop, then the Interstate to nowhere, back on the loop and home. I have my 600 miles now for the service.

I'm curious. is the V4 tag your entire legal tag for the bike. Great pictures and ride. I know how those too late to turn around route choices can be. Great it worked out good.
Personalised plates were first introduced to New Zealand in 1987, and at the time they were $300 plus tax, so I pounced on this plate and fitted it to my VFR750. It's been with me every since.
If you had the finances for it, the plate "1" was also available back then. These plates are an investment item, my plate should be worth significantly more than the bike.

Rode up to Washington Park on Fidalgo Island with a friend. Sat along the water and just soaked in the record breaking temperatures and the quiet of the ocean view.

Later went to Snow Goose Produce where they sell the largest single scoop waffle cones that you've ever seen. Here's the view from where we were sitting and eating our ice cream. The "single scoop" size was about a pint of ice cream at least. Yum!
