What did you do with your ST1100/ST1300 today?

Not nearly as cool here.
Took off my wheels for new tires.
I'm new to this so every move is a learning experience.
I spent a lot of effort cleaning up my wheels and brakes.
I work at a tire and auto store as a service advisor, so I'll take my (clean) wheels there to swap out to my Michelin Road 6's and put on 90 degree valve stems.
Then the bike shop down the street will do my balance since I haven't taken the time to get a balancing rig and weights.

Today I trusted a tech guy from CERAKOTE and coated my brand new VStream windshield. I had called them the day before and asked to speak with "not a sales person".;) I asked him about their various products and he assured me that the "auto windshield product was the one for polycarb (Lexan) windscreens.
It was pretty easy and their instructions are good.
I decided to try it ($19) knowing that there a lot of bugs and rain between California and Cape Cod. Plus, when we had all our rain out here I rode in a car that had it done. Pretty impressive so I'm hopeful.

Replaced the original turn signal relay for incandescent bulbs with the one compatible for LED from SuperBrigntLEDs. Plug&Play and works well.D87062AC-D1CF-466F-ABA8-9449A737C667.jpeg
Yes! I finally converted my ‘01 signal and brake lights from incandescent to all LED. I did have HID headlights for awhile, but one of the igniters died so I replaced them with LED.

I started some maintenance items that were either due or unknown. (so due)

Started with the rear gear oil (an unknown) It was grey/green  , then moved to the engine oil and filter (due.) It was as expected. :)

Removed the Tupperware to start on replacing coolant (unknown), wiring in new driving lights, wiring in dual horns, check/replace air filter (unknown), brake fluid replacement (unknown but due), replacing both exhaust clamps (one broke last Fall).... Also have some extra trim farkle items (tank pads rear & sides and side cover fill-ins.) Likely going to tidy up the trailer isolation wiring from multiple relays to an all in one unit.

UPDATE: Just wanted to say that after 4 days, two of which included rain and high winds, I am super pleased with my new windshield . It is considerably more steady in high wind and semi-trucks. Also the CeraKote gave me "look through" clarity in the rain. It was better than I hoped for. (rare in today's world)

Took my heated grips controller off the bike in an attempt to take it to bits
On a recent test ride the controller was flashing continuously so I thought it best to abort and return home
The controller is a black cube about one inch by one inch and about half an inch tall with central grey button and three red lights on
I thought I could get it apart, but just to find out what make it was would be great
It is attached to the clutch reservoir/ lever by an angled plate and attached to the plate by two pk screws
When I got it off it said Honda on the back, so I looked on the net for some operating instructions

ST1300A, NC700X, CB500, CTX700, CTX700N, CBR650F: Heated Grip Kit Operation Manual (usermanual.wiki)
(Won't let me post a link to usermanual wiki where I found it)

Lo and behold once the voltage falls below that required to operate the grips the controller flashes,
but what I didn't know was once this happens it keeps flashing even when the voltage recovers
Problem solved and OK for the longer test run to test my recently greased gear linkage

Hmmmm... where to start. In February of this year I purchased a 2006 ST1300pa with 41,000 km. Since I didn't know the maintenance history I figured I should just start in and get at 'er to have a decent maintenance baseline. I replaced the engine oil/filter, rear gear oil, new air filter, iridium spark plugs, flushed/replaced the coolant and tighten clamps on radiator hoses from thermostat (had a small coolant leak), flushed the brake lines, flushed the hydraulic clutch fluid, new tires and 90 degree valve stems, cleaned and lubricated the spline, new brakes pads, replaced front/rear wheel bearings and finally a new battery. Not maintenance related but nice to have, I installed a switch relay and secondary fuse box for accessories. I started wiring some accessories to the police switches on the handle bar as well. Next up is to install a ST2 brake module and then to install me on the seat for a ride.

Road 60 miles out to a dealer to pick up some in stock parts, or so I thought. Ordered them and will go back out next week to pick up. Excellent use of time, gas, and tires though. It's a beautiful day here in the Phila. NYC area, sunny and 70, should have not came straight back.
