WOW, I just saw this myself, we only met a handful of times, but what a GREAT guy. My thoughts are with you Bob.

My thoughts and prayers today are for a safe trip for Mac and Larry and who ever else is on their way to see Bob. I know they will share our thoughts with Bob.

I'm pretty sure Vinny shared the forum with Bob and his relatives when they were together.

Our thoughts go out to Bob and his family and thanks go out to those forum members that can visit with Bob to help him through a very difficult time.

One day last week, I gave Tony my login info and encouraged him to read all the messages that were being posted. Whether he did or not I don't know.

Just got a text from Tony...."He is doing well today. I am not sure he is going to be coherent if you come."

So, if you are planning on visiting Bob, you might want to consider Tonys message.

This is tough.
Every event I have been to, I have looked around in the hopes of finding Bob there too. I suspect we will all feel differently than usual with Bob not with us around the fire.
You are loved by so many Bob.

Just got text from Tony..."He meant to say that he...Bob...is NOT doing well. Lots of pain, incoherent." The rest of the msg is kind of graphic, so I'm going to omit it. Needless to say, Bob is not doing well, and they are having problems controlling him. They are pumping him with morphine.

Based on the messages I'm getting from Tony, I think visiting may not be a practical thing to do. That will be up to you to decide.

Only met Bob briefly 2 times . I was impressed he remembered me and my name and he struck me as
a true "gentleman". Something rare .

Wow. There are no words for this. All I can do is wish Bob a peaceful transition to a painless place and send my thoughts out to his family for courage, strength and peace.
I wish I'd had the pleasure of meeting him in person.

Received a voice mail and a text from family of Bob, to call or text Diane Dondson before visiting (Diane is Bob's sister) and is watching after Bob. So before anyone stops by for a visit... please call or text her at (217)741-6926 and honor the family's wishes and notify them of your desire to see Bob. I'm sure they are very willing to accommodate folks wishing well and want to visit, but they need to be prepared for your arrival and Bob needs to be ready for your arrival as well. Thanks to all for your cooperation.

Thanks for the difficult update, John. I was about to load up the ST and head down there but I think it will be best to remember this fine man as he was at ArkanSTOC and DinkieSTOC.

I just received a text from Tony. "They are requesting that all visitation be cancelled. They want everyone to keep their memories of Bob, as they last saw him, not in his present condition."

I told him I'd post it, and I'm sure that everyone will respect the families wishes.

Thanks a million, John. I was about to start that way but will put that on hold.
You're doing a great job of forwarding the information as it comes in
