Itchy Boots

I really, really appreciate her positive attitude. She laugs many things off, that could easily put a person in a sour mood if they dwelled on them. (Needing to ride unplanned extra distance, bactracking, etc.)
I looove seeing the nordic countries, their foods and customs. As a matter of fact, I’m about to enjoy some Fika.

Made my way through that long interview in Dutch (with subtitles). Near the end she mentions she isn't accepting donations anymore, that she wants to remain independent and self-sustaining if she can. Some of her gear is from sponsorships but other than that she wants to do it alone. Not sure how many people would be that determined, but she is travelling alone on her bike so independence seems to mean a great deal to her.

Wow that's huge. Good for her. She has mentioned how various brands have donated kit but it's never an in your face ad thing. How does this bode for selling IB merchandise.

Having a DONATION button can be seen as soliciting donations as opposed to merely accepting them though it may be a difference without a distinction to her. So that's out. Selling branded merchandise seems fair trade to me. I hope that's in.

Noraly makes it to the most northerly point in Europe. Love the Nordkap area. I first visited in 1976 when I did my Geology mapping thesis in the Havoysund peninsular. Not many roads then! All the roads north of Tromso were dirt!

Anyone know how to buy her neck gaiters? I was thinking of picking up a couple for gifts but can't locate them on her website.

Some of you might not be subscribed ... I received an email from Noraly as follows

Dear Adventurer

Winter is closing in around Scandinavia. I was incredibly lucky with the weather at North Cape but I was running out of luck. There were so many places in Norway that I wanted to explore and great roads that I wanted Ronin to ride - but days and days of continuous rain and poor visibility chased me down through Norway and I had no choice but to skip all the gorgeous fjords and run as fast as I could to where there was a little bit of sunshine again.

This means that I have an excellent reason to come back to Norway another time and explore beautiful South and Central Norway! You just have to embrace the unexpected, go with the flow and adapt to the circumstances. I wrote a blogpost about traveling this way and the things that might come your way once you do that.

Be inspired and read it now on the blog! :)

Cheers, Noraly

Afterwards, there's a link to her Oct 15 article

And then, and I'm not sure if this comment is a "hold over" from a previous post, but we see

See you in two weeks! Ride safe!

So unsure if we will see a YouTube posting for two weeks or not ...

I just caught up with the last three videos starting with the interview. Tough to decode YT's subtitling but it was a really good interview nonetheless. It really felt more like a conversation than previous interviews. Makes me wish I spoke Dutch. Lots if interesting conversation and I liked the Itchy Boots/Schoenmaker/shoemaker bit.

Then there was the "NO! No Finland for you!" vid. No reason given. I couldn't tell if he saw her passport and that was the issue or what.

There was some spirited riding at a couple points - probably a lot more that we didn't see. I don't think I've seen her heel over anywhere near that much before.

But riding in 46ºF weather... For me that's WnS time or holed up with some hot chocolate. Glad she was able to get into Norway.

She had a few made and they sold out in hours so she did another sale but you had to order up front and she kept the order book open for a week then odered enough to cover the orders.

I was lucky enough to buy three for Myself my other half and a friend that follows her

I did but some stickers a few months before, perhaps they are still available?

Noraly continues south down the Norwegian coast taking a diversion to visit the Lofotens.

I have great memories of visiting the Lofotens. It is a shame that Noraly did not get to the town of “A” at the southern tip of the Lofotens where the scenery is even more staggering

Awesome episode with some fantastic drone footage! Glad that Noraly made it all the way down to the southern end of the Lofotens
