Itchy Boots

She's really on track with her M, W, F releases. I've been working from home lately, and we watch her new episode at lunch on M, W, F. Then my wife watches them again over the next couple days until the new episode... she really likes Noraly... I think she's seen them all at least twice, some 3-4 times. One of our running jokes is "I'm Noraly, I can park anywhere"! I envy the more general acceptance and usability of motorcycles OUS.

Royalenfield Himalayan might be my next bike? Yeah, I'm envy of Noraly...! :thumb: :rofl1:

What's impressive is that she releases them exactly at 10 eastern. Probably timed releases, but still, no small feat when dealing with travel and WIFI for such large video files.

Indeed - she certainly has a discipline that a lot of YouTubers lack. She must work very hard on editing etc. to produce such watchable videos under such sub-optimal conditions.

Paul,
Kathy is also a fan and enjoys watching Noraly's videos with me. I agree that Noraly has become much more professional with releasing her videos. I think she may have some help in uploading as they now appear at exactly 9:00am on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays.

Edit: I now see that you can schedule when your uploaded videos go live on YouTube

Actually, Americas leads rest of world for

I'll assume you've responded to the rwong thread, cause this has nothing to do with Itchy Boots, or any reply [that I can remember] in here.

EDIT: maybe you can delete that post - thanks

I’m guessing he didn’t even mean to post on ST-O, much less this thread.

Regarding camping . . . I'm thinking the idea of hauling the gear and camping was primarily COVIS related. Possibly with the testing to get into Iceland and follow-up testing a week later might indicate a lesser need to camp. Also, since I haven't been to Iceland, maybe the availability of camping facilities is limited. The small places she has been staying have certainly provided distancing and isolation.

It'll be interesting to see if camping becomes a better choice when back on the continent.

Shuey

Edit: Just watched Episode 10 and . . . we're camping! (Thanks Andy)

At the start of Episode 3, Noraly said that she wanted to minimize interactions with people so she decided to camp Rather than stay in lodging every night as she did in Episode 1 & 2.

I don’t think Noraly is a stranger to camping as before she discovered motorcycles, Noraly backpacked through Australia, South America and Greenland.

You're correct. She mentioned that in one of her early Season 3 posts. I don't remember if it was to limit exposure or if accommodations might be scarce in Iceland. If it means potentially having to camp, then I'm content staying home and watching her videos! :D

I didn't see your post before I posted so a big oops on my part.

She has also mentioned on more than one occasion that lodging in Europe is much more expensive than many of the other places she has ridden.

Greenland would be a strange place to backpack as the communities aren’t connected by roads, you either fly or go by ship. We talked to a guide at L'Anse aux Meadows that had spent the previous summer in Greenland and she thought it was very isolated, the Northern Peninsula of Newfoundland isn’t exactly densely settled.

Noraly gets dirty with Ronin! Noraly says she only has two more days in Iceland before taking the ferry back to Denmark. I think she'll then take the ferry to Norway.

Is her new logo supposed to say itchyboots? I've been trying to visualize it. I'm close, I think. Too much work though.

Sounds like she can just skip the second Covid test, but she has tried.

Great drone footage in today's video.
Even the hand held footage was stable on the gravel road, well done!

About three episodes ago, in drone footage, I couldn't figure what the "round white things" that were scattered about the pastures.

In this recent video, it's obvious ... covered hay bales. Around these parts, dark green covers are used. (if you're curious, they cover them cause rain will ruin the hay).

I don’t know about Iceland but in this part of Ontario they often wrap hay that is bailed without drying to the normal low level this causes the hay to ferment. Apparently it maintains more of the nutrients and the cows like it better, it smells pretty bad when a bale is opened.

Referred to as Baleage around here; much easier to pack and handle than conventional dry hay, but does lead to a lot of waste plastic wrap.
