Itchy Boots

Camping in Iceland may be a bit challenging. We haven't seen her put up her tent yet!

I wonder when we get to purchase her stuff?

I am continually amazed at the ability of the GoPro cameras to provide an extremely steady video, while the bike and rider are obviously bouncing all over the place!

Another great episode!

I've also been really impressed with the steadiness of the video footage, specially . . . when the camera is on the end of a stick that she's holding left handed as she rides bumping along the road. I'm guessing there's more going on than just the stabilization capabilities of the GoPro. Any ideas?

@Shuey ... i haven't looked close enough, but she might be using a gimbal stabilizer ...

EDIT: I checker her "gear" page and she doesn't list anything related to stabilization...

Noraly does not include a gimbal stabilizer in her equipment list.

I think this is just the awesome image stabilization in GoPro Hero 8 and GoPro Max she is using. If you see her speedo in the latest video, Noraly is doing about 30 kph (20 mph) on the dirt road while holding the selfie stick. I think she has only used the GoPro Max on the boom mounted to her engine guard on paved roads. I doubt that mount would survive long on those lava gravel roads.

Thanks guys . . . I checked also and didn't see anything in her equipment lists. The GoPros must have really advanced. I recognized that her speeds while video riding weren't all that fast, but even walking. Walking along holding a selfie stick and camera out beside you and no apparent height changes or jiggling, rock steady . . . I'm really impressed. If it's just the camera, I need to get one!

Her videos are getting more professional all the time, but . . . it's her effervescent personality, wit and charm that sell the whole thing.

Looking forward to each new installment,
Shuey

I just watched her latest video and, while I continue to be amazed at Noralys courage and relentless good humour, I got the very distinct impression that she is not really a bike-camper. She seemed to regard today’s camping and meal preparation as a lark, rather than as a valid mode of travel.

That’s not a criticism, just an observation.

You are right, Noraly is not a motorcycle camper. From her Q&A sessions she is very open that on her prior adventures she decided not to camp as he did not want to carry all the gear.

Indeed - and I don’t blame her one bit.
She carries a lot of camera and computer gear which makes her wonderful videos possible - and she has been doing it on a pretty small bike on very rough roads.

I'm with her on that. I did my share of motorcycle camping way back. It was fun - every bit of it. Sometime between the last time I moto-camped and the next time it was brought up I decided BTDONM. Now for me moto "camping" is finding a Best Western or equivalent. And even that may be off the table until COVID DEFCON relents somewhat.

Series 3, Episode 10: Noraly heads into the western Fjords and highest mountains of Iceland

She's really on track with her M, W, F releases. I've been working from home lately, and we watch her new episode at lunch on M, W, F. Then my wife watches them again over the next couple days until the new episode... she really likes Noraly... I think she's seen them all at least twice, some 3-4 times. One of our running jokes is "I'm Noraly, I can park anywhere"! I envy the more general acceptance and usability of motorcycles OUS.
