Where did you ride today?

Well, I'd like to say I got a good 3 - 4 hour ride in today, but it's about 0C (32F) here, minimal snow for the time of year, and the ST got winterized yesterday for its 4 - 5 month hibernation period until better weather in the New Year.

No worries though....... you riders in the southern US please keep us tuned in as you describe your 65 - 70F all day rides on near deserted desert roads. We in the North certainly appreciate hearing about this in detail as we sit frozen to our chairs dreaming about the Spring thaw and getting back on our bikes.

Will do ReSTored. I plan to ride Sat in the 52/sunny weather. ☀️

Took the Yamaha ST out for a 200 mile around Santa Barbara County in this great December weather saw a high of 77.

Posted on the other thread, but what the heck:

Actually, 2 days ago. Not having ridden on 2 wheels since mid-October or driven my convertible since early October we went down to our vacation home in Fayetteville, AR After going for a 180 mile drive with my wife in our Honda S2000 in NW Arkansas, we got home and she said I should go for a motorcycle ride. So, I did one of my favorite quick routes out of town (Fayetteville) towards Huntsville on AR74. From there south on AR23 to west AR16 and back to Fayetteville. Total mileage was 80 and the temp was an above average 54 degrees. What an awesome 260 mile day of driving and riding in the hills and twists of the Ozarks!

Safe travels to you & yours on your new to you ST! Pics?
Thanks, pic attached from yesterday.

Today, I set off out in 45F, headed into Liverpool city centre (needed to call off at the office) & came back the long way home. Covered 130 miles according to the trip counter. As usual, it started raining about 10mins after I set off, and it didn't stop.

Great looking ST! Ride safe & often!

Took another ride on the Yamaha ST today, just over 375 miles with a high temp of 78. Here are a few pictures of the ride.

Looks like 33 North, right? Up through Ventucopa and Maricopa? I used to ride all over there. I used to live on VAFB, down the road from LomPOKE. Small world!

I did hit Hwy 33 on the way home, those pictures were taken up in the Santa Monica mountains above Malibu. There are some great roads around here.

10 miles in the late morning to do a spot of Christmas shopping & test out the RiderScan - no verdict yet. Heavy traffic, often sub 10mph, lots of junctions with impatient car drivers & small kids that seem to like tyre marks on their foreheads... so I wasn't really focusing on looking at the RiderScan. I think it'll be more use on the motorway anyway.

The second I hopped off the ST, I had an old guy come over & start chatting about bikes... I've missed that the last few years while I've not had a bike & actually forgot it happened. Nicest thing he said was "That's an '02? I wouldn't have known without seeing the plate, it looks brand new!"

Got home & washed the bike. No pics today, I'll get some showing the RiderScan next time I'm out.

Considering helibars risers to help with slow traffic...

I'd recommend the helibar risers.
Welcome back to the motorcycle world. Things like strangers coming up to you and reliving their motorcycle days a just a few of the 'little' things that make motorcycling a great way of life.

Thanks, and I agree. It's actually one of the things that reminds me to plan plenty of time for journeys (assuming I'll get into long conversations with strangers). That all helps with a relaxed journey too - more time.

I also ride in danger zones (like town, shopping) with a "POLITE notice THINK BIKE" high vis jacket... some mistake me for a UK cop (the white helmet probably helps that), some for a bike instructor... but hey, if that misconception gets me seen, I'll take it! I had 3 people say they liked the high vis jacket while I was just walking around the shops. :)

I rode a 140 mile loop to Paris and back today after picking up my ST from the shop.....Paris, VA[emoji23]. Was 50 when I started and 44 when I finished. I'm pretty sure my new front tire is now scuffed in......140 miles in around 2 hours. That would make my average speed 70[emoji849] only did 25 highway miles[emoji16]

I'm a week late but since I just discovered this thread... With the early onset of winter around these parts I've been waiting for a chance to get out again. so last Sunday I put on about 90 miles over some of my favorite local roads. I manage to clear out what was left in the tank, refilled it and then gave her a good wash only to then have to put her back into hibernation for the year...

Didn't get a chance to ride yesterday:(. Hope all out there had a Merry Christmas and have a Happy, safe and prosperous New Year!

Ride safe folks!

Went out for a short 50 mile ride yesterday before heading to my son's place for dinner.... Went down A1A to Cape Canaveral, Cocoa Beach and then 520 down to my son's place, then back home before dark.. Had an early dinner.
