Where did you ride today?

Went to the Damascus House in a bit of rain yesterday morning. No pics, but it did happen. I took the bike to church to lead a Life Group in the evening. I thought of taking pics, but it was pitch black.

But even as short as those rides were...it was great! :)

I rode to my daughters. From Cornwall to Brighton. UK. Stayed at hers. Then went on to see my son
Stayed there for the night. then rode back. Total 520 miles

Rode to work today. 45 this morning but Sunny 60 on the way home. Confused some of my colleagues who didn’t know I ride a motorcycle and wanting to know who I was .

Rode Michigan backroads from Ada to Newaygo , & back on hwys , temp. dropped from 58° to 41° now. Last ride , it's over , in 2020 ! ( hands about froze / numb in 3 hrs , despite gauntlet gloves )
Time to put it on "wintersave" insurance until April .

Cold ride out today. Sunny and mainly dry but with a cold wind keeping the temperatures in single digits. Had a bit of a Yorkshire and Durham Dales roundabout tour. 230 miles just to make the wheels go round and charge the battery. I will have to get a camera sorted out at some point, there was some fantastic scenery today.

Did two rides this past week, one 100 miles to the hospital for my PSA blood test and a 235 mile trip with a small group yesterday. The latter ride was a wet one as it rained off and on most of the day. Someone had asked about my new Traklock phone holder, I used it on both trips and it works great. It holds the iPhone firmly without any movement unlike what my old phone holder did.

42.8 F with lovely blue sky today, makes a change to all the rain we’ve been having, gritters have been out over night so bike will need a good clean lol. Pic is looking at Kinross in Perthshire. My outside temp gauge is only accurate when riding, the heat off engine makes it feel warm lol

James (jtvisions) and I looked at the weather, and after a long spell of rain, we saw our chance. So with promises of dry weather and sunny skies, I headed north to James' house to meet up with him.

Unfortunately, before I could get there the Puget Sound Convergence Zone reared its ugly head.

Once I got north of Everett, the bad weather was behind me, and beautiful skies lay ahead. :)

Deception Pass and the bridge. If you have time, read the description on Wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deception_Pass It's a place worth spending a couple hours at, though we didn't this time.
Currents

Deception Pass is a dramatic seascape where the tidal flow and whirlpools beneath the twin bridges connecting Fidalgo Island to Whidbey Island move quickly. During ]ebb and flood tide] current speed reaches about 8 knots (9.2 mph), flowing in opposite directions between ebb and flood. This swift current can lead to standing waves, large whirlpools, and roiling eddies. This swift current phenomenon can be viewed from the twin bridges' pedestrian walkways or from the trail leading below the larger south bridge from the parking lot on the Whidbey Island side. Boats can be seen waiting on either side of the pass for the current to stop or change direction before going through. Thrill-seeking kayakers go there during large tide changes to surf the standing waves and brave the class 2 and 3 rapid conditions.

Libby Beach. There's virtually no "beach" here. Still a nice place for a stop.
