Where did you ride today?

 :eek1:   :eek1:  :eek1:
Not me! LOL That's way out of my comfort zone.

I was in a good place to test my new fuel pump as my thermistor had gone bad in the old one and you would run out of fuel with 2 bars showing on the gauge, the fuel gauge works great and is very accurate now. I will be getting fuel sooner now that I know that I can trust the gauge again. :thumb:

Thanks for the good wishes all. I will not have the results for a week or two but I am pretty sure all will be well. Bone density in my head A1 according to some! Just need the ferries to France to start running again soon for the annual D-Day pilgrimage!

Uphill from a gas station?? I pushed my ST maybe a block and a half when the key broke in the gas cap (that wouldn't open). That was more than enough for me! I think Supe pushed his a mile+ ?

My gas gauge hasn't given me cause for doubt but I haven't tested it's accuracy. Maybe one day I'll get one of those Noraly 1L gas cans and give it a go. Until then it's:
'real' metal key
spare key carried always
three bars and it's time for refueling whenever possible

Not today, but did a nice loop Sunday from Ventura, up 33 to 166 west to Santa Maria and then south on 101 and 154 back to Ventura. A nice little 200+ mile loop. The shot below is on 166 east of Santa Maria.

Finally was able to get out for a ride today. Needed to go to my son's house to help him pull some network cable for hooking up security cameras. Took the long way there and the long way back for a round trip of 49 miles.

Round trip 306 miles to Gowensville SC for lunch and then on to Tuxedo NC and return through some nice curvy roads. Beautiful weather, mid 60s and blue skies. Great to be out with compadres. Lots of bikes out roaming the countryside.

38 mile round trip to Redruth to buy some Hylomar for the seals in the cam boxes. No-one in West Cornwall had any and it's time for the valve clearance check! I don't like using the instant gasket silicone stuff.

The bank and then to the grocery store. I'm still amazed how much stuff you can pack in an ST1100 hard bags. Bank still waited on me on my motorcycle in the drive up lane.

I'm heartened to hear that. I've been told a few times that I can't be in the drive-thru on a bike. Ticks me off so I don't bother. OTOH I haven't needed human contact with my bank more than twice in 20yrs not counting a half-dozen phone calls.

Once I took my helmet off the girls at the window knew me and said its ok. I still bank the old fashioned way....even have a pass book to do a manual entry. And get a paper receipt and a quarterly statement mailed to me. Now that I think of it that's probably why they remember me:rofl1:.

I guess that's another difference between the MidWest and the Left Coast state.
I've always been waited on with no complaint at the bank drive up window. Even with keeping my helmet on... but the tellers know me from when I have parked to go in and they see me in the security camera. Been a long time for me though. These days it's all online for me.

Rode around the outskirts of 3-4 suburbs around the metro area and then out into the country just for something different. Ended up with 81 miles round trip. Felt good to get out, especially since tomorrow I have to mow the yard and the next 5 days after that show thunderstorms coming.

I think that's probably the case especially in CA where traffic is heavy and bike still aren't considered as equals on the road. I've had the same experience where signs were posted 'no walk up' or 'no pedestrians'. I've written a few letters and shaken my brolly at the sky but decided there are bigger hills to die on.

I'm sure there are people/members who've never had a problem with their bikes in drive-thrus but I'd say they are the exception not the rule. Of course that could be different now with some businesses nearly desperate for customers.
