Where did you ride today?

I took my "other" bike out for a spin on the weekend, a 1997 VTR1000F Firestorm. Quite a different beastie to the ST1300, feels like it weighs about half as much, and accelerates quickly but in a less refined way that one might call character. It also has much tighter accomodations with more cramped knees and more weight on the wrists, but as I need to stop and refuel every 200km I get a chance to stretch... On the plus side, it is lovely and cool to ride on a hot day (unlike my 1300), and never runs out of ground clearance, and handles really nicely (on modified suspenders), and the v-twin engine just loves to lope along. Anyway, we enjoyed a 300km blat around my favourite twisty roads, temperatures in the early 20's and clear blue skies. For any locals, this included a few favourites such as Clevedon to Kaiaua via East Coast Rd, Findlay Rd, Lake Waikare Rd (where this pic was taken) and Rotongaro Rd, Waingaro Rd and SH22 homewards.

Nov24th last ride of the year @ MSP. By Wednesday morning we got over 8 inches of the snowstorm.

About 50 degrees here. Swapped the bars with the Oxford grips to Brutus the 04.
Road to the grocery store. Just a hundred mile ride. :)
@the Ferret, you may recognize you former ride’s front end along with this piece that I saw on the way today. 60D49AC2-3593-4446-9AFA-98E5E184B993.jpeg
STarship and the X Wing fighter live on. Makes me smile. Man, I miss that bike. Thanks Sirbike

Did a 450 mile ride yesterday around the area, temperature's were 36 to 75. I saw snow in the mountains and the fire in Santa Barbara. Also saw a major vehicle accident in Montecito last night on the 101 and I had to split traffic for several miles. Here are a couple of pictures.

Went for Coffee, and then to get a Haircut, Home Depot for some screws, Walgreens for Rx. Weather is great Clear, and upper 70's, supposed to get a "cold Front " tonight probably high 50's.
It doesn't get very cold around here.
The only time we see Ice on the ground is when someone spills a drink.
SE Florida's like that. We are going to move to South Carolina early next year.

Thanksgiving dinner.
340 mile round trip. Average 36 degrees.
Thankful to be there. Thankful to be here.

The weather was in the 60’s, overcast and windy all day, so I tinkered around in the garage. Rebuilt the carb on the ATV and got it running right. Was running out of room, so I put the Wee on the lift table to make more room. Just before dark, I realized that by shuffling bikes around, I had made room to get the V-Rod out. I grabbed a jacket and helmet and rode a 25 mile loop on some local twisty roads. No traffic, cool wind in my face, and listening to the pipes on the H-D. This bike couldn’t be any further from an ST if it tried, but dang it’s fun. No windshield, no fairings, no storage, no problem.

50 and raining today. Good time to ride Brutus the 04 on a 188 mile round trip to pick up his own 04 blue mid fairings with deflectors.
The 06 wants its fairings back.
Just need some black mirror housings to match the black upper fairing, or blue.E971B24F-F860-4E6A-A3A8-D2DB015F1D28.jpeg16E0A43B-891E-4178-A1DA-1524380FBEAA.jpegu

Just a short ride, Up to and through a State Park. Back roads to get there, Interstate to try and get back ahead of bad weather.
Made It. Well a block of light sprinkling, hit the Garage Door opener. Home Mostly Dry. Lol

I had a Corbin Seat on the shelf, that a friend gave me about 6 months ago. He sold his bike a while back.
I put the Corbin seat on, and went for about a 20 mile ride jut to see how it rode. seems to be just fine. We will see.
Just got the Old Girl back from the shop. She had been sitting up for a while. I had a Quad Bypass, and that put me out of Service for a while. We had a lot of work done to the House, Re-done the Kitchen, then the master Bath. The Bikes, ST 1100, and Nighthawk, were buried in the garage, and had to be dug out. A friend has a shop and told me he would get them back running and sell them for me. I left the ST 1100 with him and rode the Nighthawk for a little while. They had a ST-100, and neither sold.
I took the ST Home, and left the Nighthawk 750 with him.
