Where did you ride today?

Took a ride today to warm up the bike to change oil and filter...….never rule out riding but it will be greatly reduced until spring.....Russ.

Like my "test" ride almost 2 weeks ago (forgot to post about it here I guess) after re-installing my rear wheel. I had taken just the rear wheel in to have new rubber put on. Only cost me $30 for the dealer to do it so I figured I let them. Have actually been on a few very short rides since then. Need to go out again to pay more attention to the rear brakes. Before I replace the tire the rear brake would make a very slight rub sound that seemed related to the rotation of the wheel. Like a spot on the disk was a little off but not enough to be a problem since there was no grabbing, just to make a noise that I only noticed when riding without earplugs. Like a harmonic hum. Haven't really heard it since I reinstalled the wheel and rear caliper so want to do another "test" ride just to be sure I "fixed" the problem. Maybe early next week when the temp in the morning is supposed to be around 6F. Or the next day when the temp is around 13F. :)
Man, winter is hear already! :(

Agree, I never rule out riding regardless of the temp. But it will be reduced from now until spring... I think.

Great posts everyone!
Certainly the ocean side shots.
We received a bunch of snow last night here in London. Other days the weather has been strange. Windy comes to mind lately. Too windy to ride personally n I'm a pretty hardy rider. I wont leave in a storm but I'll push through one while on the road -- if it's still safe. Two of us had a beauty ride back on October 20th. We did manage to have lunch on a great lake. Anybody hear of Port Dover. Two weeks later our lunch stop was submerged in 6" of storm surge.
Ride when you can. Ride safe everyone.

It warmed up to a sunny 50 this afternoon, so I took the V-Rod out for a 70 mile loop toward Franklin and ended up on the Natchez Trace for about 30 miles. I normally take pictures, while riding the Trace, but due to this year‘s drought, there is no color. What leaves that remain on the trees are a dull brown.

Decided to Sta-Bil the bikes today. I add the Stabil then take a ride to get it thru the system. Got 3 done, keeping the old BMW till last. Got about 5 miles from home and it died. Had to get my truck/trailer to bring it home.

Thinking the timing chain let go.

On the bright side you'll have your winter all planned out now.
Nice looking RT by the way.

Riding out west when winter occured. Texas 290 to Austin was literally a butcher shop this morning, deer parts everywhere, not carcasses, blood and guts. On the happier side camped last night for free at Junction City Park, where they had already put up their festive holiday lighting ...

Was wondering if you might get caught up in the 20 to 40 mph north winds here today...
Dang Bucks are in the Rut now... Bucks are chasing Doe's and Doe's are running away. None are watching or worried about consequences of their actions. o_O

And you usually do such a bang up job of blending @TPadden .

Today yet another 10 mile ride to pick up stuff at the store 1 mile away. Was a warm 45F when I left and a few higher than that coming home. I've yet to use my heated gloves this season but that day will come soon enough.

I’m in the Coachella Valley (California) for the winter. Went up to Big Bear this week. Great twisty roads, not too trafficky at this time of year, but fairly cool (in the 40s F) above 8000 feet. The store sign photo shows the local priorities.

Tomorrow I am going to do a loop from Salton Sea, Borrego Springs, Mt. Palomar and finally the Palms-to-Pines highway. I love California!

I got back home on Sunday evening from attending FL-STOC. Great time! The weather was cool. The trip was 1367 miles total, the ST did its job just fine.

Was a really nice day for a change. NO clouds. ALL sun. Very little wind. And only about 54-56F for temps.
So I decided to take a little ride and explore a new road. New as in just finished construction and is now open where there was no road before. This road goes past a new Micro$oft data center being built south of my home some miles. The 3rd one in the area. All are big facilities but this one will be the biggest in the area, possibly in the MidWest. Only went 34 miles but was a very pleasant ride. Always a risk riding on a brand new road with the potential of construction left overs on the pavement (screws, sharp bits of metal and such) but the road was well cleared and clean.
