Where did you ride today?

Yeah the slow ferry, the SS Badger goes across to Manitowac, Wisconsin. I live closer to the Express Ferry in Muskegon. It goes to Milwaukee twice a day in about 2.5 hours. There is also (another) Bear Lake in North Muskegon. Your Bear Lake Cabin must be near Manistee. The riding here is incredible for about 5 months of the year. Every vacation cottage should have a motorcycle !!
Yes, the cottage is north of Manistee. I know the garage needs a bike in it. There isn't even have a boat in it. Sacrilege.

Dang feel like a Tourist, lived in the lower mainland most of my life first time I have heard of that lake. Thought it was Alouette lake.

Google mapped it gone past it numerous times riding through Stave lake dam, going to Mission.

I had to take a picture of the quality of that beach at Whonnock [my first time hearing of it as well] having just come back from Lake Isle the nice picture, and stopping by Lake Wabamun. The bad picture is "Seba Beach" at the east end of Lake Wabamun. Hardly anything you could let the kids in. Lake Isle is no better, for as good as it looks, the smell at the shore line would knock a dog of a well, you know the rest, and the sight as you approach, well I wasn't going to hang around for a close up. The grounds at the gated site we were at had a pretty good amenites and well maintained outdoor pool decent [for kids] outdoor pool at least.
I don't know what it takes to clean up a lake so it can be enjoyed for recreation, but honestly Alberta Government, take some of that photo radar money you took from me and everyone else over the last twenty years or so and get it done. It's a shame early August, no one out there. Kids need to remember a lake in their childhood.
Whonnock lake has going for it a few things, nice big sloped beach, clear, a little off the beaten path and no power boats make it a little less popular and a not too crowded place during the week.

Rode up to my son's house. A 46+ mile round trip this time.
Went to help him put down some gravel to set the garbage and recycle bins on and dig a hole to plant a new tree... in place of an original tree that died because the builder doesn't know how to plant those things in clay soil. We got the hole down to 30-36 inches deep and the clay was still holding water like a pot. Will have to dig deeper and put in a lot of gravel to give water someplace to go.

Visited the Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego today to see how the 2nd phase turned out, I was part of the team who began the project and finished the 1st phase in 2010

Miles today 71. However I did something very dangerous. image000004.jpegimage000000.jpeg
Let you know if I will pull the trigger.

JAWS!

How does that compare to your BMW? Dash speakers any good?

One of the reasons I am trying to do all my own maintenance is so I avoid stepping foot in any dealer showroom.

No, the dash speakers are no good!

Not on ANY bike. Earplugs are the way to go, we don't wanna hear your rap.

Even if you're playing the Allman Brothers or Lynyrd Skynyrd... please keep it to yourself. (And your pillion, if that applies to you. )

This Public Service Announcement has been brought to you by The Polite Society.

There was one dude playing disco and it was loud. Please no. I always keep my music in my helmet. You don’t want to hear my hard rock and I don’t want to hear your country or whatever. The rumble is enough.

In my helmet today, I could hear myself sweat.

So I tuned into a private concert (me only) by the Ozark Mountain Daredevils, imagining myself sitting in a light refreshing breeze on a cool rock under the shade of a large oak tree, overlooking a calm, blue lake in the Oxark hills.

The real reality, however...

Up-draft carburetor; there's something you don't see every day.

And the exhaust manifold built into the head.
