Where did you ride today?

Went to my appointment with the DOT to register all my vehicles and pick up the custom plate for the trailer. The forecast called for no rain until after 2 pm. My appointment was 10:45 so I figured plenty of time to get there and back before getting wet. Yeah, right. 23 mile round trip straight there and back a not so straight route but I made it over 36 miles anyway. I left a little early so I could go the long way on the way there. Good thing I did. Appointments are strictly enforced time-wise so getting there early is no help. Getting there late cancels the time requiring setting up a new appointment for another time. I got there on time but the air felt just a bit damp as I walked into the courthouse. It took them 25 minutes to get the registration right. Had to fix the registration for the trailer plate since they printed the slip for THIS year rather than NEXT year as they should have. Got that all straightened out and found it was a light drizzle as I walked back to the bike. I had taken the trailer just to test out the balance of the wheel on it after putting 1 oz of balance beads in there. The trailer ran great as did the new tire on the bike. The drizzle turned to rain for most of the ride back. Fortunately I was headed out of it going home but I never outran it completely. Now I'm waiting for the license plate frame to arrive this afternoon. I ordered the same one that is on the AK. Pictures later.
 
I forgot to mention in my last post that when I picked up the new plate and registered my vehicles at the DOT I got the window with the cute girl. She saw the "number" on the plate and looked at the plate order and then asked "that's the model of the trailer?". I said it was and she smiled at that. Nice smile. :cool:

Went to the local Walmart to pick up a grocery order. We usually have plenty to make a free curbside pickup order from there. Don't have to fight the crowd inside the store. I didn't leave early enough to go for much of a ride before though I did stop at one other store on the way to pickup a Mother's Day card. I also didn't want groceries to sit in the trailer while I tripped all over the county so this was a very short trip. Only 4.5 miles! Under all the sacks is a bag of dog food to be ballast in the bottom of the trailer. I could have fit twice this stuff as you can see. She told me to do it again!
Well, this time she asked "are you going for a ride today?" and then added that it was the last nice day for it that we'll have for a while.
She's right. Expecting not so great weather again for a while.
So I took off on a ride. Just another combination of a few routes I rode in the past. This ride was 77 miles. Not with the trailer since I was just cruising around the 4 county area.
 
I rode... to work. A half hour combo of city driving and 70 mph on the interstate. Only stalled at one traffic light like an idiot, but had it restarted in a second and fixed that eff-up. Far more comfort with the bike after the safety course, and after about five minutes on the road any nerves melted away.

Guess that means it's time to buy a summer jacket.
 
Just a short little ride to burn some gas so I could fill the tank. About half way on this ride the red bar started flashing. That usually means about 40+ miles remaining. If I rode that far then the red "E" will start flashing meaning I have about 13-15 miles to empty. Didn't get that far. Only rode 34 miles. When I filled up I put 2.8 gallons in the tank. My tank holds 3.85 usable gallons (with a little left in the bottom). So I actually could have gone farther with that red bar flashing than I thought.
