What did you do with your ST1100/ST1300 today?

Replaced the batteries in the TPMS sensors and aired up the tires, checked the coolant fluid, getting her ready for a Saturday ride through N GA mountains with friends. Awesome motorcycle!

New fuel filter on the 94 (pretty crudded up- probably the original) with an OEM filter...also, the clock bulb was out (probably since I bought the bike in 2014)- fuel filter was easy...the #74 bulb for the clock- now that was a PIA- I tried to access it via the mirror mount area, but ultimately had to take off the windshield and the plastics under that (and it was still a PIA to access) but I finally got it done.

Went for a great ride, the weather was fine. went this way and filled up with non-ethanol gas. Went back the other way till that road ended, and turned left, into the National Forest. followed that one till it came out at another road that I knew where it went. Crossed it and kept going. That one ended up going into a town I knew from a different way. So I went back home by another road.
75 mile round trip got me out of the house for a while, out by my self, with no worry's about someone in my space.
Plenty of sunshine, with nothing to listen to but the bike. A lot of fresh air. And I learned where two new roads go.
I am slowly learning a lot of new roads and enjoying riding the hills and curves of the area.
I had something else to do today, but it is inside work, and late tonight some bad weather do to come through and 80% chance of rain tomorrow. I exercised one of the options of retirement put that job off till tomorrow.
I sat in the Dr's Office waiting room a few months back. Two Couples that new each other ran into each other. As they talked back and forth about he had to go to this Dr. Today, and she to get a test tomorrow and him the next day.
After a while I piped up, and said. The main reason we all Retired, was so we would have time to go back and forth to all these Dam Doctors. Everyone in the Office Roared and Clapped.
A week later I was at another Doctors, and two women were talking, and one was telling her friend what I had said. They both laughed, and I said I have heard that before. The first one looked at me, and said Hey, that was You.

Ha..!! Great story! My theory is...stay away from doctors.....:eek:

Re-glued my Oxford heated grips for the 5th time. This time I used Gorilla glue (the original kind). I also have a slow leak in my rear tire. I've had trouble finding where it was leaking. I found a small hole that I think had something like a stiff wire puncture it? I put a plug in it and will check the pressure tonight. It was only losing @ 2lbs a day. The tire has @7500 miles on it but the tread is still decent.

I'll have to try the glue. I've had to re-hairspray my clutch side as it tends to slip and where the wire comes out will get in the way of fully activating the clutch.

I hate when that happens. I was in Gaspe last year, pulled in the clutch, hit the starter button, nothing...... I thought oh $%^&! not a good place to have to tear the bike apart. Clutch was hitting on the grip and wasn't engaging the clutch switch.

Had a friend who has an issue on his FJR. Throttle side slipped and kept the throttle open as he was entering traffic from a side road. Ended up doing a wheelie.

Today is one of my ST1300 Anniversaries! One that is remembered, but not of fondly!

12 years ago today, I got hit on my '05. We were moving in heavy freeway traffic at about 25mph when the guy next to me "thought" my lane was empty.

You can see where my MCL Wing dented his rear fender.

I had it towed over to Adam's Honda motorcycle shop, where he worked as a Service guy in Riverside.

The bike had about 34K miles on it at the time and it should have been totaled, but I managed to save it from that.

Adam had the shop mechanic fix in two weeks! But after I got it back, the mechanic had left off all sorts of parts from the repairs, so I grabbed all the broken stuff and corrected his laziness.

After that is when I started working on my own bikes!

Did any oil+filter change with Mobil 1 V-Twin 20W-50 since it's getting pretty warm here in NorCal. Also got a new front tire installed, Bridgestone Spitfire S11F 100/90-18. Needed something to replace the old front since it had some pretty decent cupping going on. The mechanic working on the bike didn't fasten the bolts holding the brake calipers on, which I failed to notice while checking it out when he was done. Luckily, neither actually detached from the bike, though the bolts were QUITE close to coming out entirely. One actually did fall out somewhere. They sent a different tech out to properly torque all the bolts and he brought a new bolt as well, so now everything is a-okay.
