What did you do with your ST1100/ST1300 today?

What I did today.
First - register for advanced riding course. Second - purchase rear crash bars. Third - Install crash bars. Fourth- start practicing slow speed maneuvers in school parking lot . Fifth - jump out of the way as the bike goes down.
Lessons learned. 1 I need to practice slow speed maneuvers a lot more. 2. the crash bars worked great. 3. always do this with a crowd around as I was not able to pick up the bike on my own. Thank you to the couple passing by in the pickup truck.

I Bought my ST1100 two months ago, in february. I drove 6 hours (with my car) to get there and back home.
Since I have no garage, the seller offered me to keep it in his heated garage until springs arrives... that is around mid-april / may in Quebec. I accepted his offer.
Now, with the Coronavirus, my motorcycle driving class was cancelled and pushed... who knows when...
They are now asking us not to travel from one part of the province to another part. Police have started to check drivers, to see where they are going, and they only allows you to go to work (essential services only), or they let you go buy food or drugs.
So... maybe I'll be able to go and get my bike (with a trailer) in june... or july.... in the same time that my driving class will probably start.
Anyhow... I'm spending my time studying my Clymer Maintenance manual... and making plans for a small shed / workshop / garage in my backyard.

The BRC2 has more slow speed maneuvers than the Advanced Riders course has. Both are a great classes though. All our classes in NY are closed until mid May if not longer.

What I learned at the CPMT course was that crash bars will most likey protect your saddle bags, the best protection is for them to be sitting onthe ground 25 paces away, along with the mirror covers.

To protect crash bars from getting scuffed and then ossibly rusting, heavy canvas and duct tape. Well, for low speed work probably just some old linens would work too.

If you have the option, 13's do not sure on 11's, fold in the mirrors too.

I just signed up and need to post, so this seemed like a good place to start.

I just bought a 2006 St1300 yesterday. 23,432 miles on it. Excellent condition. I paid $5000, which isn't a super deal but it seemed fair considering tires only had 500 miles on them, new battery, Givi V47 top box, recent oil change and really immaculate care by the two previous onwners. I rode it from Hamilton Mt to Dutton Mt where I live. About 220 miles. 55 to 60 degrees with periods of 20 to 30 mile an hour crosswinds.

Really beginning to like this bike. Getting back into longer trips with the wife after being away for some years. Excited to be part of your community.

Very nice. Montana is where I do my speed runs :)

I sat down in front of the TV, before turning it on, I looked at the clock. It was like 6:45AM. A thought came to me, "You know, that's enough time to get a 20 mile ride in!"

So I informed Chris I was going for an early morning ride. I got my gear on and then jumped on the :bl13:. I rode over to I215, headed north to Menifee, rode east to Winchester road and headed south, back home.

All in all I did a 28 mile ride and still clocked in on my work computer at 7:45am.

Now that was a great way to start the day! :hat3:

She finally stripped down in the garage, with the door fully open, for some much needed mx and upgrades!

At least things are still clean under the airbox, and there's no sign of a mouse house like last time I was under there (before having to replace the injector harness that is.)

Yesterday I installed my left hand Delkevic muffler. Today, I pulled the belly fairing and swapped the clutch line for a stainless steel line from Apex.

Less than an hour from Max, the middle grandson, loosening the belly fairing bolts and having the line in, system bled and ready for a test drive.

With an oil and filter change scheduled next, I’m not putting the fairing back on yet. Plus I’m adding two USB charging points. And the right hand Delkevic muffler. So a few more things to get done and then it’s on with the 2020 riding season!

A big shout out to my wife, Christina, for letting me build my Garage Mahal and put together all the tools that fall so easily to hand. I am blessed and privileged to be her husband. Thanks, my love!

She's pretty nekkid.

Just thinking the same as @GGely about my wife to be Dianne.
And thank you for the MC Spa sweetie.
I installed a G2 throttle tamer and started Oxford heated grip install on the Silver Spare 03 and did some cleaning and organizing in the MC Spa. 3E15F338-00EC-4860-BBBB-2CAB0591CFDA.jpeg
I had planned to finish the install tonight but got happily caught in planning wedding songs.
Having two (or more) bikes is a bonus.
