What did you do with your ST1100/ST1300 today?

What's the advantage of the GW pegs? And how much were they?

They lower the foot pegs almost an inch and are a direct bolt on to your current pegs. They are also wider. Forget the prices but not too bad. Below are the parts you need.

I have noticed my boot rubbing on the pavement sometimes when turning hard, can't remember if that happened before. I do ride with my boots pointed outward, so it's my fault if that happens. The peg is definitely lower than stock , but if you're leaning the bike over that far, you may be riding the wrong bike. :)

I scrape the pegs on occasion, not as a matter of habit. I just don’t want it to happen a lot. I test rode a Sportster a while back and was scraping the pegs around every corner. Needless to say, I wasn’t sold...

Another tough day on the road. While out on the 1100 ripping around Palos Verdes this afternoon, my RDL 1300 saddle showed up on the front porch. Big box, put that baby on the 1300, putt another 30 miles around the peninsula. Excellent riding weather. Exquisite saddle. :p

Pluto helps unpack box.

Installed and ready to ride.20200131_155802.jpg

Nice to be back on the 1300 again.

Bottom end gets top priority.
Hasn't always been that way, however, at 68, it's a win win.

Now you've done it! :well1:

There will be MANY LONG DISTANCE rides in your future now! :thumb:

With the GW pegs, there are a few spots, if I lean it over too far, my boots will scrape, but it isn't going to be like a Sportster! :rofl1:

I scrapped the toe of my boot once but before I put on the lower GW pegs. I've never scraped again with the factory or GW pegs.

You have much need of crowd control for funeral escort? Did you get a 'guard card' for that?

Why you ask?

Anyways,
Typically open carry of a sidearm isn’t appropriate for funeral as it makes some families nervous. Although I’ve been at some that have been on the verge of violence and made me nervous.

This little side adventure of mine is with a security firm. Escort is one of our mad skillz.

Because I'm curious. CPC restricts the use of batons as generally prohibited weapons and I wasn't aware that escort riders were allowed. Obviously you have a CCW license or qualify under LEOSA?

Like I said I'm curious as to what the entitlements are under the CVC and CPC for escort riders because the code sections seem pretty scarce. I'm a strong proponent of knowing the law as opposed to knowing what you can get away with regardless of how you roll.

Buttoned up for the 50 F. mid morning ride, gusting 30 mph. Third ride with the RDL saddle and seat back. This 1300, was just like strapping on a Pitts S2B. Crisp exhilarating ride around the peninsula. Nothing but whitecaps offshore in a wind torn ocean, all the way to Catalina. Was a magnificent ride.

Now I hear the call to do nothing and am doing my best to comply.

Yesterday (Feb 16), I tore into the 2010, to replace the air cleaner. When I tried to disconnect the power plug to the heat controller, the plugs were stuck together so bad, that the plugs broke when I finally pulled them apart. So I replaced the power cord with a new one I had. Then I found a new plug on an old wire to splice on to the heat controller. Well, when I went to use it this morning, it had a short in it and wouldn't work. Therefore a cold ride in this morning! :box1:

Also, when I got to the air cleaner......I'm ashamed to say, it was beyond dirty! @Igofar would give me a grade of "F-", for air cleaner servicing...:spank1:

Great commute today. A little chilly this morning at 34 degrees, but 64 degrees coming home was NOICE!
