What did you do with your ST1100/ST1300 today?

Well my trip to the motorcycle shop was a partial disaster. I ordered a 17” Road 5 GT and when I got there I discovered my error too late. The front is 18” and very few bikes are, so being I drove a ways to get there, i had to get whst they had in stock: a Dunlop tire that comes stock on HDs and has the same ratings as the original OEM tire thst came on my bike. Hard lesson learned.

The good news, is that they lowered my brake pedal for me to make me feel better.

Did the exact same thing with order of PR4ĢT and Revzilla got me sorted out with an 18" for the front of the 01. Murphy gets the credit...

Am running 1300 size tires on the 1100, to the horror of some; has produced the best ride ever...

If you want to ride along with me on the way home from the motorcycle shop...

On the 94: oil and filter change, clutch fluid flush, and checked all the valves (actually quite easy, just take off the inspection covers and I was able to access the valve train this way)- all in spec. (actually, middle of spec for all valves at 38K miles). I had to take off the lower gray plastics to access the crank bolt to rotate the engine as well as to access the clutch slave cylinder. On my next day off, it‘ll be the same work on the 2000.

STacy managed to get out for 20 minutes in between rain showers. The route she took was mostly dry pavement so she was able to dry out from the last two weeks of continuous rain... Yes, Virginia, it does rain in Seattle, a lot...:rofl1:

I replaced the front brake pads & reinstalled the front tire. I will clean up my mess and put my tools back tomorrow. To tried and too many sore muscles to do it tonight.

Only dreamt. My new ride is still sitting at the dealer waiting on registration, new tires and the end of winter.
I'm so excited but also so frustrated:rofl1:

Possibly the worst timing for buying a new bike

Yesterday, checked valve clearances. Today, installed new spark plugs. Later this week, put all the tuperware back on.

The left side GW foot peg pad was getting a bit too thin, so I replaced it with a new one. The right side was fine. So no need to replace it.

Commute required lots of Lane Splitting today!

Nothing yet, didn't get a chance to test the electrical issues I'm having. But after inspecting the bike better during daylight hours, I will be removing the rear wheel this evening. Back tire is in bad shape, so I'll be having that replaced this week. One thing at time.

Thanked the ST Owners forum. Sticky starter switch had caused headlight issues, lots of head scratching and swearing prevented by a quick check on the forum. Learned something new today. Thanks

New shinko rear to finish wearing out the t31 front. Most unbalanced tire ive ever seen at 2.5 oz. Oh well its just for 3000 miles...

If you haven’t already, this would be a good time to inspect the final drive splines carefully. Hope there are no surprises...

John

Didn't make it home till after dark, maybe I'll be able to get to it Wednesday. Really don't like working on a new to me bike for the first time without plenty of light. I'll be sure to look over the splines. Thanks for the tip, hope I don't find any surprises either.

I’m 2 for 2...the 2000 got the oil change and clutch fluid changed today, valve check (all in middle of spec!!!), and I pulled the rear wheel and lubed the splines (not dry and no rust or wear)- all ready to go for a bit.
