What did you do with your ST1100/ST1300 today?

Do you mind telling me how?
You use the FCD/H button on the left console under the clock and next to the trip button (set of three soft covered push buttons, see pic).

When there is more than 1.32 USGal in the tank, it selects between current (every 15") consumption (miles/gal), AVG (cumulative since reset) consumption (miles/gal), or is blank. When the quantity drops below that amount basically you're on the reserve tank located below the seat (looking for the reserve tank volume, I don't think it holds 1.32 USGal) it adds in available driving distance (using the AVG value since last reset, so it may or may not be accurate) and fuel quantity remaining to the tenth of a gallon. According to that section of the owners manual, that value is also based on current riding conditions and may not be accurate (and blanks below 0.53 USGal) but I've found it to be accurate in the sense that you have fuel as long as a value is displayed. Others may have more info.

Thanks, Gus1300. The info is much appreciated.

A big snowstorm is expected here for Thursday, so I washed the bike before putting it away for the winter......and I discovered this:

Missing panel.jpg

The small panel on the right middle cowl is MIA. I searched the garage: nada. I guess I didn't properly seat the clip that holds it in place. Does anyone have a replacement that I could beg or buy?

Partzilla has them:

Thankfully, the washer is round. Couldn't have rolled too far away.....
When you find it, I'm convinced you'll find my ST11 speedo drive screw snuggled up close.
Can I have it back please Mister.
Upt'North.
Could have been worse.....

Ha! Best of luck finding that washer.
You'll probably find it after you have ordered a new one.
Gonna get the bike naked today and say a little prayer for the washer to reveal itself. While in there, can do a nice exploratory on the 10 year old condition of all components.

Actually, found the washer sandwiched in between the neck, hoses and wires, and retrieved with magnet. Job complete.20191107_154528.jpg20191107_154512.jpg

Since its been cold here for a week and next week does not look promising decided to put my ST1100 to bed for the winter. Warmed it up in the garage shut her down and changed the oil and filter. Disconnected the battery and plugged the exhaust outlets with shop rags. Finally pushed it into the corner of my garage that's reserved for my ST. Sad day today but Spring is only 5 months away:( Almost forgot but I did fill it up with stabil and a full tank of gas.

Its going to be a lovely 58 deg. this weekend your gonna have second thoughts. I dont winterize, we'll still get some sunny days in the middle of winter. I will put 2 little ceramic heaters blowing in the front of the bike a few hours before and try to get a ride in here and there all winter, sure lifts the spirits.

I have a buddy that keeps his bike out all winter and never puts it up. Me, I would rather put it up than wait weeks or a month for those 39 degree sunny days. Plus I don't like riding in salted roads. You know i'm down here in Belleville and as soon as we get .01 inches here comes the salt trucks.

Plans for the weekend...

1. Change front a rear tires on the 2010
2. Change the oil on the 2010 (Did the 2012 just a couple of weeks ago.)
3. Wash the 2010 after I get done with the other stuff.
4. I'll let you know Monday if I was successful with 1, 2 & 3.

2 escort rides, 120 miles.

helped a fire truck get through a congested intersection, got the thanks wave/nod by all aboard

saw a silver ST 1300 north bound on 57 freeway yesterday around 2-3 pm pacific time.

changed battery for first time in Fobo BT tpms

I did it! :hat3:

Changed both tires out and added a two way valve on the rear for my TMS.

I was already to add one to the front tire, but I got ahead of myself and got the tire mounted, then remembered about the valve! :doh1:
So I mounted the TMS on the 90 degree valve stem.

I was in my driveway & garage taking care of the tires when these boys flew by!

I was hoping to get a better picture, but my phone shut off. By the time I got the phone powered back up, they had landed. They were having an air show at the air port 3/4 of a mile away!

Yes, A10 and a P38! How cool was that? :wave1:

VERY cool. Even with the fuzzy pic I could tell what they were. Two of my favorite aircraft!

The problem wasn't that your phone went dead. It was that you were 3/4mi away from an airshow!!
