When I live in the 'pocket' I routinely rode all over the river roads of the Sac river.
Great fun, especially the midnight runs.
My duplex looked out along the river.
At one time the Pocket Road area was a wilderness!

Now if I can just learn to care for the new one and keep it nice and clear.

I'd go with the tape. Stray sealant in engines tends to block things up!Installed the steering head bearings, replaced the stem and set the preload. If that’s what it’s called!
Installed new upper and lower red hoses with new clamps, thermostat, o-ring and rad cap then reinstalled the radiator, overflow hose and reservoir.
I’m installing a new temperature sensor and reached a moment of uncertainty: what do you use as a thread sealant for these? Teflon tape or an RTV type of sealant?
IIRC I used regular pipe thread goop on mine. Don't remember seeing any evidence of tape residue on the old one, how about yours? Its a very fine thread pitch and fairly shallow threads, wasn't sure how much tape I could even use on it, so I went with the goop instead. lemme know how the tape worked out for you.I’m installing a new temperature sensor and reached a moment of uncertainty: what do you use as a thread sealant for these? Years ago I used green hermetite on these things, don't know if it's still made but it always worked really well on water/steam connections. Easy to undue after as well. Of course with progress the colour will have changed.Installed the steering head bearings, replaced the stem and set the preload. If that’s what it’s called!

You may want to consider new "O" rings on the joint pipes Part # 91331-MCP-900 (X2) while you have the throttle body already removed. $1.76 eachremoved the throttle bodies and pulled my t-stat housing. I was surprised to find that all of the hoses were leaking. I had been catching wiffs of coolant all summer, but my coolant level wasnt going down, so I wasnt too concerned. I will replace the hoses and clamps and seal up anything else that could leak.
Congrats on finally getting one of that pad.I purchased an OEM tank pad from a wrecked 2005 ST from a salvager on eBay that was willing to remove the pad and sell it to me separate from the tank. After cleaning off the old tape, I noticed the part number printed on the back was 08P61-MCS-8000-01, not 08P61-MCS-100. See the attached photo. I removed the old 2-sided tape, got it cleaned up, applied new tape and installed it on my ST. Also see attached photo. I was curious about that different number and did some internet searching to confirm it is the same tank pad. The number is shortened to 08P61-MCS-800. Even though many suppliers show it as unavailable, I see Amazon has an active listing as well as a dealer in Chattanooga, TN. See links on this post. So for at least a few of you, there are some new OEM tank pads available out there with that alternate number.

I want to take a minute and give a shout out to Michael (CYYJ). I stopped by his place and he set me up with some breeze clamps and a wealth of knowledge from his experience doing this exact task. Truly a great guy and an asset to the forums.
cool. We'll have to get together when riding riding season gets here. This snow last night doesn't make that day seem like it will ever get here...I’ll echo your shout out, Bmacleod. Michael came out last Saturday and helped me sort out the valve check and change the timing belt. Thanks, Michael!
PS Bmacleod, we’re neighbors-ish. I’m pretty much at Townline and 2
