What did you do with your ST1100/ST1300 today?

Installed it back on my helmet. Found that I need bigger (deeper) detents. I'll take it back to work with me tomorrow and make them a little deeper. Best to go slowly rather than go too deep and have to buy a new shield (they're not cheap!) I used a small round file.
Here's a pick of the fender extender. Put some pop rivets in it this afternoon to ensure it not coming off.

Really nice mod...
How did you attach the front fender extender before you added rivets?

What/where did the plastic with the Honda logo come from?

Was there any functionality purpose to the shorter OEM fender?

Very nice/clean job.

That looks like a Honda decal on the extended fender bit. Is that from the Blue One or somebody else?

I understand the purpose of the pop-rivets but has anybody reported the glue failing? Break out the Sharpie or sumpin' and tone down those rivets. (Are they made in black oxide?)

I used a Dow Corning RTV to attach the extension overnight. Then drilled/installed the pop rivets today. Plenty of clearance for the tire and rivets. The short OEM fender allowed debris/mud/etc to be kicked up into the cowling/engine. This simple extension looks to be the 'fix' for that. I've seen several 13s with this mod. As for where I got it: 237164

I debated on using the rivets. I think the RTV would have held fine, just wanted the assurance it would not come off. So, the rivets went on. They're growing on me. I may get some silver touch up paint and dab on them. Makes it look 'manly'! :rofl1:

I've used some in the past and my version was more of a silicone sealer than adhesive. I think the versions on our side recommend (supply?) a ABS glue or similar. But the pop-rivets are reminiscent of the monocoque look.

Is there an 1100 compatible version?
There was, dunno for sure if there is now. A “Fenda Extenda.” I’ve had one installed for years. Came with stainless screws, which I used. There used to be one for the rear too, called a “Ducktail” I think. Didn’t buy that one. :)

Edit: found one, link

I did make and install my own forward inner rear fender extender to keep the swingarm clean.

I plucked up my courage and built myself a HISS reprogram lead (not hard at all) then took a deep breath and plugged it in and coded up a spare key (the bike only had one HISS key when I got it). Had a mild panic when neither the original or new key would fire the engine until I had a "D'Oh!" moment and plugged the ignition pulse generator back in....

John, I've got the same front guard extender as yourself and what you're saying about the rear is interesting. My rear would appear to have had a duck tail at sometime and I have been searching with no avail for a replacement. If it was a Honda part you don't by any chance have the part no. I know it's a long shot. Thanks.

I know Pyramid do the universal ones, they might work.

The link John provided for the ST1100 also has the equivalent for the ST1300:

However, it appears to be a shorter extension than the UK sourced one by ATA. Judging from this picture, it’s not long enough to protect the lower portion of the intake scoop’s Tupperware

Again, here’s ATA’s picture. Wish we had another sideways pic with the wheel facing full forward/centered

Pyramid Plastics is the manufacturer of the one I ordered from the UK. Sounds like they sourced it from the US and then back to me. Pretty sure it's the same thing. I'll take a side pic with the wheel straight this afternoon to verify. I think the angle of the pic I took makes it look longer.

@Upt’North [if I knew your firST name I’d use it:cool:]
The front and rear fender mud/splash guards are aftermarket. The list of Hondaline Accessories with Honda parts numbers for the ST1100 is pretty short.

For the ST1300 I found the Extenda Fenda to be way to short to be worth the trouble. Many on this forum, including me, installed a Stuff Stopper front fender extender. It is considerably longer than the Extenda Fenda version. It extends all the way down to the bottom of the fairing. It also wraps around the tire much more. Because of these design differences it does a better job of containing and keeping debris thrown by the front tire out of the radiator. Because there are no screws or rivets required to hold it on it flows seemlessly in to the Honda fender making it look like it is part of the fender and original to the bike. They were manufactured and sold by a member here (Blue One) but I don't know if he is still making them. At the time he was also looking in to making one for the ST1100 but I don't know if he ever did or not. He still frequents this site (as recently as a week ago) so a quick PM to him would answer both of those questions for anyone interested in his products.
