Mr. Donaldson - R.I.P. 10/15/2014

Re: Prayers needed for my buddy, Mr. Donaldson

Prayers from Dana & I, for pain free and speedy recovery for Bob.
Hopefully the antibiotics will get rid of the bugs causing his septic condition.

Re: Prayers needed for my buddy, Mr. Donaldson

I was hoping to hear better news about Bob's recovery. Hang in there, sir. You have a bunch of people pulling for you.

Re: Prayers needed for my buddy, Mr. Donaldson

This hasn't been a good morning. Not the kind of news I wanted to see.
I remember the first time I met Bob at Moonshine a number of years ago. And he struck me immediately as someone special? And that's what he's been to me for this way to short of time. Youre my hero, Ol buddy.
Prayers coming your way from a bunch of concerned people.

Still thinking of Bob. The updates I read aren't promising but when you're that far down it takes a bit to improve. Still looking to put some miles in with him.

Re: Prayers needed for my buddy, Mr. Donaldson

Latest just minutes ago.... he is absorbing the Oxygen well, but not doing good processing the CO2. Family member will be updating me periodically. KEEP PRAYING

Hey Vinny, can you give us an address to send him our love with flowers and cards?

And somebody please tell me why I can't subscribe to this thread.

Re: Prayers needed for my buddy, Mr. Donaldson

Bob and I sure are saying ours prayers for Bob Donaldson and hoping that he pulls through this glitch in life. So here is the kind of man Bob Donaldson is to me. Bob and I went to the Connecticut camp weekend at Brian's a number of years ago, it was my first time, and whos tent was near ours - Bob Donaldson's. He and I met and started to get to know each other to the point that he confided in me that he had lost his wife approximately seven months prior to that weekend. We had such a nice talk about his wife and many other things in life. During that weekend he joined Bob and I for a nice ride to a small town to the waters edge and did a little site seeing. On our way back to the campground late that afternoon, Bob kept going straight instead of turning into the campgrounds. And Bob and I could not figure out where he had gone. Well, pretty soon he showed up, got off of the bike and we asked him where he disappeared to. Before that ride I had offered him some dark chocolate candy-Dove to be exact and I told him how much I loved dark chocolate candy. Bob Donaldson readily accepted the chocolate. When he got off of the bike he gave me a dark chocolate Snickers bar and I was so impressed with how thoughtful that small gesture was. He purposely went to a local store to buy it for me. Right away that told me the kind of man that Bob Donaldson is. To some that may not mean a lot, but to me it meant a great deal. Bob has since stayed with us at our home here in Pennsylvania and we have enjoyed having him. So, Bob, get well so that all of your
motorcycle friends can enjoy continuing to have you ride with them. Sue Dantinne

Praying for Bob and family.

Re: Prayers needed for my buddy, Mr. Donaldson

Wow, missed this for a few days. Always have been impressed with Bob's presence. He's a good friend to all here. He's been fighting this pulmanary problem for at least 2 years, just not broadcasting it. Adding best wishes for recovery from both me and Debbie and Also from AdaM and Christy. He is the best.

Re: Prayers needed for my buddy, Mr. Donaldson

Good evening to all Bob's friends. I just got home from eating out with family, so I'm a little late at posting my lastest text from Bob's son, Tony.

As Vinny had stated earlier, Bob is on an oxygen bypass machine, for oxygen in & CO2 out.

According to Tony, he still has some sort of infection in him. His kidney numbers are declining slightly.
His Doctors are talking about hospice care. They plan on keeping him in ICU until Monday. Hospice are something like that will follow afterward. Tony says visitors would be good for him. He has no idea how to get his "stubborn butt" into hospice care, but will keep me updated.

Tony has told him that we are all following his progress on the site.

So, that's all I have for any updates. I will pass them on as I get them. Sorry I'm late posting, but as I said....I was having dinner with family.

Later....John/Sourkraut

Re: Prayers needed for my buddy, Mr. Donaldson

If I could I'd stop in physically and visit. My thoughts and prayers will have to do.

Re: Prayers needed for my buddy, Mr. Donaldson

Our hearts and minds are heavy this morning when we saw that word hospice. Like Dave said - if we were closer, we would be at that hospital hoping to see him, tell him to get better and give him a big smile. Like all of us, we feel
pretty helpless this morning, wishing there was something we could do to help Bob get better. I asked my brother and sister-in-law in Florida this morning and all of the members of their church, which they are heavily involved in, to say a prayer for Bob. Like Bob Donaldson and Ace (my Bob) my brother was in Viet Nam also. We love you Bob and Godspeed. Sue Dantinne

Re: Prayers needed for my buddy, Mr. Donaldson

I am in Canada with my wife's family to celebrate their Thanksgiving tomorrow. My thanks will be given for knowing and being able to spend time with such an outstanding individual. Prayers will continue to be sent for a miracle.

He is truly a class act... Get well Colonel! Praying for a speedy and complete recovery!

Re: Prayers needed for my buddy, Mr. Donaldson

Do we know which hospital he is in? If he is in ICU, I assume that visiting hours are very restricted and that family is using up what it available. Am I correct?
