2014 Honda CTX1300

Cool overlay!
Speaking of a windshield changing the whole look, I saw an F6B yesterday at the Mustang Seats factory and it had a Cee Bailey shield several inches higher than stock...very different look.

Very good job with the overlay. I'm looking forward to seeing the CTX1300 in person. I have to think Honda will have one at Daytona Bike Week in March if it is not in the showrooms before then.

Isn't that Honda wing on the tank flying the wrong way? There are port and starboard versions of those.

Nice bike, btw.

I didn't notice that. Methinks you're correct. I just snagged the jpg from the web, but I remember the first one of these I laid eyes on.

On my way to page 26 here, I read some good comments and funny remarks. You guys are great. On to my bits. I don't think this is a bad move for Honda. The ST1300 power plant is great and it will find a nice home in a new wrapper. I'm happy for those lucky owners who will get to experience that great engine. There's lots of other goodies in the CTX1300 packages and it's sporty. A good fit for those looking for a bagger with serious performance and style but not ready to make the leap into the GoldWing platform. Can't wait to see what comes next.

I wonder what the "load limit" is for the CTX... considering ST is ~400lbs...
From what I can see, it should be about the same. The CTX13 is using basically the same brakes as the ST13 (I think that the rear rotor might even be a couple of mm larger on the CTX13).

does this appear to be a single brake line?? Am I missing something. Scroll to red pic close up of right front brake caliper.
Well the red pic is the base model and has no ABS. But I only see the one brake like on the Deluxe model with ABS.

At this point, I'm going by the description on the Honda Canada website. I suspect that we are only getting the Deluxe model with ABS.

Mellow, they'll have to pry my Vista Cruise from my cold dead hand. Wherever I go, whatever I ride, my Vista Cruise goes with me. Simple, cheap, functional, gets the job done -- letting me take the rigidity out of my right hand and arm for a while.

I ride a VTX1800 and a ST1300. Based on the geometry the CTX1300 kind of looks like mix of the two. I guess if I get tired of riding the two bikes I have now in about ten years a CTX might make sense (though it would be hard to replace the visceral thump of the VTX or the twisty loving ST geometry). Funny thing is that I thought I would sell the VTX when I bought the ST, but I now find both to fill different riding niches and to be equally enjoyable. Since both were bought used, at least for now I can afford to keep and maintain both. Since I split my mileage between them, I suspect my heirs will be fighting over them unless I choose to "upgrade" though with the current offerings I don't see a bike that would be much of an improvement on either. I wish Honda success in developing a new category of "weekender" bikes, but also hope they develop a line of accessories to allow those of us who use their bikes for touring to do so without a hassle (trunk, heated grips, cruise control and lowers). I suspect one reason the VTX1800 didn't survive is that Honda didn't offer a full dress touring version to compete with the Harley and Polaris offerings. With a decent windscreen and lowers it is hard to beat for laid back long distance cruising. It is nice to see the ST's engine being put to use in another model as it is a truly amazing mill.

I Like that CTX1300, I will test ride one when they come out.

I do Not buy a bike based on looks alone, I have been stung by falling in love with a bikes looks only to be Very dissatisfyed later on.

I need a day long ride, Honda Dealer, would probabley call the cops on me, may turn into a very exciting test ride,

maybe i will test it out, and put it through it's paces, during high speed pursuit, Maybe I can be in the movies, film at 11:00

Re: Replacement for Honda ST1300 in 2015?

Darksiders alert. The CTX has a wider rear tire than the ST, if the Swingarm pivot has the same dimensions it could give y'all a few more options for tayrs
