Where did you ride today?

The weather was set so there was no good reason not to get out. We did about 150 miles in the Borders taking in Kelso, Selkirk, Peebles and the scenery and roads were stunning. Not many straights up here. Proper Ice cream at Innerleithen finished the day off nicely.
Upt'North.

Did an 85-mile ride on the ST yesterday after dinner just to get the wind in my face and burn off some gas. Need to do another trip to burn off the gas in the upper tank. I am getting ready to install my CB radio and I may need part of the wiring to go under the tank. Anyway, it is good time to check the air filter as well as I plan on raising the tank after I remove the left side plastic. Beautiful day in central Florida.

I planned a 3 day trip since the wife and kids would be out of town. I left Thursday after work and made good time to my first STealth camp site around 1030 and 300mi. I stopped in Vancouver, WA for gas and forgot to zipper the pocket my wallet goes in so Friday morning when I went to suit up I noticed it was missing. Did a quick sweep of the campsite and luggage with no joy. I called the bank and canceled my debit card and the called the wife to figure out how to get home with no money and only a 100 miles of gas left. Apple Wallet was the answer. She sent me money and I could pay for gas inside.
Well, about 1230 Friday afternoon a coworker called me to let me know a firefighter in Oregon had found my wallet and collected it’s contents off the freeway. He lives in Coos Bay an easy 380mi away. Repacked the bike for Saturday morning and took of for the coast which is what I had wanted to do originally. So, all told with 3 days of riding I got in about 1300mi.
@ToddC, I used your swim coaches weight shifting technique and it helped immensely.

Saturday my wife and I rode to VT. She prefers the the smaller roads. From home Lunenburg, MA we took Rt 13N to 119W to 124N into NH, to 101W to Keene, NH (stopped at DD for coffee & donut & restroom). Continued west on Rt 9 to Brattleboro VT.
Rode south on Rt 5 (Pioneer Valley road) to Rt 2/2A east - then to home. Nice day, Nice ride, about 160 miles :thumb:

Every 5yrs I am req'd to take a MSF course so I spent the day on the bike. Kissed the ground with both pegs during the decreasing radius turn practice. ST is consider a sport bike so I was on the range with 2 TL1000, 'busa, Ninja 400, and GSXRs. The link below is one of the TL1000s that was in the class.
I also installed my new OEM tank pad.

Met up with Larry today for a 200+ mile day along the Illinois River. Lunch in Utica and a desert stop in Lacon Illinois before heading back to our Home locations.
Gorgeous day to play hooky from work.

Tuesday, I went with James (jtvisions) over the other direction to the Olympic Peninsula.

The route took us up north to Deception Pass.

[edit][/h]Deception Pass is a dramatic seascape where the tidal flow and whirlpools beneath the twin bridges connecting Fidalgo Island to Whidbey Island move quickly. During ebb and flood tide current speed reaches about 8 knots (9.2 mph), flowing in opposite directions between ebb and flood.[SUP][7][/SUP] This swift current can lead to standing waves, large whirlpools, and roiling eddies. This swift current phenomenon can be viewed from the twin bridges' pedestrian walkways or from the trail leading below the larger south bridge from the parking lot on the Whidbey Island side. Boats can be seen waiting on either side of the pass for the current to stop or change direction before going through. Thrill-seeking kayakers go there during large tide changes to surf the standing waves and brave the class 2 and 3 rapid conditions.
