Just to CLARIFY, Gibraltar is a BRITISH overseas terrority and has been since 1713. That's over 300 years for anyone counting. If anyone thinks it belongs to anyone else they are sadly mistaken. It's as British as afternoon tea and proper football.Rode (and floated, picture was taken while floating) past a rock that Spain and Great Britain have been arguing about for at least the last 100 years. There was actually a military confrontation between the navies of these two countries yesterday about this rock - I think because Great Britain has threatened to tow the rock away and relocate it to the Caribbean once GB exits the European Community at the end of next month.
Anyway, I bypassed it - didn't bother to go in because 1) Customs is a PITA and I've already been in two different countries today, and; 2) been there before, not much to see except a bunch of monkeys at the top of the rock.

Re, the fuel and tolls Michael, as you know Europe is expensive, but look on the brightside the EU will most likely ban fossil fuel for vehicles by 2030. I don't add up the cost whilst on trips, it hurts too much, but I was on that very road last July enroute to the Col du Petit St.Bernard and Italy. It'll still be closed until May I'm guessing with snow.
Enjoy your ride.
