Where did you ride today?

From Chatham to Lucan to the Donnelly's Cafe, Taphouse, Pizzeria, and Mjs Catering (I had to take a breath there), for lunch with my sister and her husband. I even got my lovely wife to ride on the back with me.

Then we did a quick visit to Murals in Metal just north of town. Great selection and lovely location.

Great menu, lovely staff and a wonderful day.

Went for a nice and easy trip around Walchensee under a Tumultuous Sky and air too wet to breath and too thin to drink, I got back just as a line of heavy black clouds obscured the sun.... Five raindrops later and the clouds were gone.
Weird weather at the moment.

Went to Platteville for Breakfast. Turned into a 9 hour 400 plus mile ride instead. From Platteville I headed to Dubuque IA, then down the IA side of the Great River Road to Savannah IL then field hopping back to NE corner of IL. 9 hours round trip. I chose wisely and took the southern route home. Rain popped up in the afternoon I'm southern WI. It was a really fun ride.

Heck, a 400 mile round trip is like 640 km. 320 will get me into five countries outside of Germany, almost into a seventh in France and four different German states.
You guys certainly don´t think of distances like we do.

I rode Arod on his inaugural and fully clothed first ride in Ireland after 5-years sat waiting in our shed.

It was a short jaunt to grab fresh fuel and get back to squeezing a clutch after riding Sherbert (GL DCT) for the past 8,000 Km. We barely covered 6 miles thru the greenily beautiful County Wexford that included laneways and mud-splattered back roads at the foot of Mt Leinster.

I was nervous in case I’d forgotten anything (else) during his restorations and everything went really well. Nothing obvious fell off and everything that sucks sucked and everything that bangs banged and most of what blew was meant to.

He’s much easier to refuel than Sherbert and I’m impressed with so much of what our STs do normally.

I’m asked a lot to compare the GL and ST, which I’ll do in a blog. For now I’m just so pleased Arod is back on the road and only sad I confirmed my left hand isn’t really up for clutch work anymore.

Ride safe!IMG_0761.jpeg

Rode to local Harley dealer for there demo days. Rally is in town this week. Demoed a Pan American. Not bad, good seating position. Quick. Then rode a Lowrider ST. Not very ST. Could barely shift the stupid thing. The shift level was angled so far up that you almost had lift your foot instead angling it up. Totally uncomfortable. I’ll pass. Otherwise great day to ride.

Had a beautiful ride up highway 7 out of Russellville and down 123 to Lamar. I didn't have to pass a car for the entire route. I think I only met about six or seven vehicles once I got out of town. Our roads aren't in the best condition but they sure are lonely.......and plenty curvy. Got home before the temps hit 80 :run1:
