What did you do with your ST1100/ST1300 today?

Tomorrow I’m baby sitting (traffic control) a Mexican event “Dia de Los Meurtos”
So this will be BeaSTie’s dress for the occasion

In the year 2525, if man is still alive,

Yesterday, raised the seat to the uppermost position. Discovered this is the touring position, the day before riding the middle seat height selection produced the sport riding configuration, and Thursday, VIN verification and registration with the seat in its lowest position, my my, was really cramping up in the hip sockets.

Riding the ST1300 ABS has redefined in the best way, the joy of motorcycle riding pleasure. Will never own another motorcycle, am an old man now. Am grateful to have acquired this 09 with 7ķ miles on it.

The road calls me. 300 miles. Where shall I ride today? I'm gone gone gone. God is great.

You've got a Turbo City tail rack - the genesis of the bygdawg rack. A very handy farkle. 'Tis a beauty your ST.

Put on a used set of Delkevic 14 inch stubbies. Got rid of a bunch of weight. Not too loud, but will probably quieten them to get some backpressure.

Took er out for a short ride around the borders, with Er'Indoors on the rear.
Only 50 f out there but it's not getting any warmer anytime soon and the sun was nice and warm.
Probably only did around 80 miles but it felt good. Filled it up with 97 Super Unleaded in anticipation of the winter lay up. Now to remember the Honda Pro Stabiliser.
Enjoy it whilst you can all you in the North.
Upt'North.

Rode to Land's End to take photo for Shawn K's sister's Pink Patch Appeal and busted the speedo cable. Ordered new cable from WEMOTO so should have that to fit on Tuesday. Don't know the family on the signpost, but they didn't seem to mind! First time I have been out this way for months - I know the road very well as I lived on the cliff at Sennen for 18 years.

Replaced the battery for a quick trip to Florida, PO had put in a YTX9-BS (110cca) July 2015, she now has a Yuasa YTZ14S (230cca) should be good to go. Weird/cheap PO.

I am not a cold weather rider, so since this is Oct and the end of my riding season I had my 98 ST1100 re-inspected so it will be ready to ride for the spring time of the year here in Va.

Valvolene 10/40 4 stroke motorcycle oil. Have used it for the past 15 years. Change it every 3 to 4,000 miles. No issues.

On an ST13, cut your oil change cost in half. Most users here, 7k to 10k intervals. I think owner manual is 7k.

I connected up my electric's controllers. I used the electric liner and heated saddle this morning. I have the gloves ready, but it wasn't quite cold enough for them this morning. And it depends what will happen the rest of this week as far a temperatures go! :well1:

:work1: Who, me? :rofl1:

I took my 1300 out to get it trained properly, and did a full day's course with local training providers Prorider. This involved some class time, braking drills (the ST cheated on the "stopping with the rear brake only" exercise) and some slow speed manoevering. This was a good time to get more acquainted with the ABS system and how to avoid activating that unecessarily. Then it was off down some of my favourite local roads for a bit of tutoring on lines, group riding and situational awareness. One of the participants was on a CRB250RR, a 4-cylinder bike with an 18000 rpm redline and a noisy pipe; was funny to listen to when we did some hillstarts as he was revving to 7000rpm just to get it off the line... Our instructor was a local legend and all-round nice guy Paul Pavletich (in the orange vest) who has been racing as long as I've been riding and at 61 years young is NZ's current Classic Superbike champion. And yes, the weather was just as nice as it looks.

Oh, c'mon! Your weather is generally warmer than mine, and I'll ride any dry day if I have the urge. Wuss! :well1:

I'm kidding, of course, but I have never "winterized" a bike. My ST started perfectly after three months under cover last winter.
