What did you do with your ST1100/ST1300 today?

Well, Saturday morning here was cool and raining so I thought
I’d do some maintenance on the St1300, removed all the Tupperware (for the first time ) so I could check all the hoses electrical connectors radiator etc, was surprised how clean everything was, expected to find more crud and grime but everything was pretty clean, no oil leaks no coolant leaks! Checked the plugs and ht leads all good! Washed up everything and reassembled the Tupperware (pia) also found a spare key inside the left mirror cover left there by the previous owner, guess he forgot to tell me about it, good idea though in case you loose your key on the road.0E4E99BF-BFCB-477D-944F-1279B21BA3D2.jpeg

I carry two rings, each with an ignition key and a trunk key. Also allows trunk access while the engine is running.

On the ferry. Bike is in the hold. When we dock we have a 1000km ride to get home. Given the 50 miles done already since I picked it up, I cannot wait.

STacey got an oil change today. Her rider didn't break anything nor did he get hurt...she counts this as a successful mission! ;) He even used the Mr. Honda oil filter wrench which is not nearly as a much fun as stabbing the filter with a screwdriver...:rofl1:

Started rebuilding a spare set of carbs for our 1991. I would like to replace the original carbs and rebuild them, everything under the carbs, fuel pump and fuel level sensor. Just something else to do this winter. I'm having too many really strong, transient (here today, not tomorrow, etc) fuel smells.
Anyway....my rebuilder set is a bit odd. Carbs are clean as nearly new inside, with no gummy fuel residues. But....both the high and low speed jets had plugged orifices. Not quite sure I understand how that could have happened. Never saw this condition before, rebuilt my first carb around 1964....dozens since. File it with Ripley's, I guess.

Replaced the burned out left headlight (they're a bear to remove when the clip isn't in place...no way to hold the bulb while trying to pull the connector!) and rode to PA to The Service Pavilion for a new helmet. Figured my old Arai (05 manufacture/07 purchase) was aged enough to warrant retirement. 300 miles and lots of rain later, I had a clean(er) bike and a new skull cover on the way!

Props to Brianna and Robert, they are a class act; lots of cheek and head liner swaps to get the right fit and be able to directly compare several different helmet shapes. MUCH better than just walking in and hoping to find one on the shelf that fits.

How much for that helmet? Looks like it comes with commo....
