What did you do with your ST1100/ST1300 today?

- Replaced the Pryme BT31 with the Sena SR10-10 for better concurrent 2-way radio and phone BT connection to the helmet mounted Sena 20s comm kit. Which required making a custom radio to SR10 cable assembly and adding an USB port under the radio hood.

- On the 90*F day in LA, whilst the BeaSTie was idling for 30 mins under the shade of a tree, I saw the temp gauge read 122*F (blinking) even with 3 bars on the engine temp gauge. When riding the temp gauge read a cool 80-90*F. This made me thing coolant level, so after the STP cooled down, I checked the coolant bottle’s level - which was near the bottom. Refilled it, no leaks thankfully, and all is good. It’s been a year since I last filled it after replacing the old cracked bottle. Had no idea this much fluid can be lost in a year (lots of hot weather driving).

I was FINALLY able to get to the 2010 and do an oil change (almost 600 miles late)! Used Shell T4 15W-40 and a K&N 204 filter!

Took me longer to find and get to everything I needed to do the oil change with, than the entire oil change! :doh1:

Having two working garages can be a PIA at times! :chairfall1:

Just got home from a PGR escort for a soldier receiving a new smart home from Tunnels to Towers.
A few pics......

His story.....

No pics of the ceremony as I was standing in a flag line while the speeches were made. Toughest part was listening to Adam reciting the names of his 4 friends that were lost in the attack that cost him his legs.

Never forget.

I broke my foot back in july and had not even started any of my bikes. at todays doctors visit he said I could ditch the boot so once back home I did. went out a few hours later and fired up the Mighty ST 1300 and the GSA, I rode each one up and down the block to see how it would feel. well I can say that i'm not ready to be back on either one 20190911_172716.jpg20190719_142648.jpg

Well not today but yesterday. Had to attend to something a little more than an hour away . Jaunt down the GSP - strong gusty ENE winds quartering on my tail on the way down and nose on my return . Winds were strong enough to throw salt spray on to me & machine at the top of the Beesley’s Point bridge 65’ or more above the water. There have been some questions & comments posted now and again in various threads regarding STability in crosswinds , etc. With that in mind I made mental notes and I am happy to report that all is well in that department - 80 mph + at times and in both directions with only very minor effect on tracking, including passing large box trucks. Sadly ( or maybe fortunately ? ) I am spoiled by choice with several bikes and I don’t get to ride the ST often but when I do it never ceases to amaze me with it’s capabilities.

The ST is a heavy bruiser which gives it stability. A couple of years back, going to Palm Desert in 100*F plus temperatures, there was this strong wind coming down the mountain side of the freeway which was a crosswind. We were going 70-80s mph, and the bike was being pushed over too much for my liking. I slowed to 55-ish and the lean was much more tolerable.

Had a similar experience a few years back up near Lake Henshaw. The Santa Ana winds stood up rapidly that Saturday morning. On northbound SR79 just east of the lake, I had my bike leaning into the crosswind more than I'd ever experienced before. Definitely unnerving. Slowing to about 45 mph made it less scary and easier to control.

Twas a hot one today...AADBF8B1-1149-4590-9EEE-F658C7F499C9.jpeg

So i tried this electronic Peltier device cooler under the helmet and around my neck. Cools the blood going to the bio-computer quite well

Installed a new pressure regulator on the Atlas tire machine. Ready to ditch the 23s for the pr4 gt's, lube the splines, replace the orings and install a new set of cushions.

Almost forgot. Balance them puppies too.:thumb::run1::usflag1:

Instead of going to church yesterday, instead I went to “Hell’s Kitchen” off Ortega Highway in SoCal
