What did you do with your ST1100/ST1300 today?

Adjusted left side valves today, I marked the chains and sprockets but after rotating they didn’t line up so I removed them and used the timing marks, never made it to the right.. have a new airbox on the way.. lol
Got the snorkels off with no problem. When I saw the heads on the screws, I knew I was in for some fun.. I got all them loose except 2. Impact driver and speed out got the first one out but the last one would budge. Broke out the drill and was making good progress.
Went through my drill bit progression and when I started with 5/16 bit drill slipped and I had a lot of pressure on it so through the side of the airbox I went. I found a used one on eBay so I just ripped it off and removed the screw.
I probably could repair it but I have too many other projects and getting another on was easier..

Got around to cleaning off the tiny little bug corpses that accumulated on our ride to Smokestack rest. in Thurber over the weekend. I removed the bags and top box to clean behind and under those areas really well. After the wash/wax/polish everything I could reach, I decided to change her appearance for a while.

BTW, this was our first 'long' ride on the 1100 since I installed the 1" risers last fall. The ride comfort improvement was pronounced. NO stiff knees, and far fewer tingly wrist occurrences.

Completed my wiring on the new ST1300.
Agreed, nice job. I like the location that you put it in.
I have a PC-8 mounted in the rear of the tail. This is a better use of space that I hadn't considered because I just thought that it wouldn't fit there.

Based on your years of ST1300 riding, you probably have more experience with the PC-8 fuse block than I do, but I thought that I would mention the below anyway.
I found that the screws that cinch the wires on the PC-8 fuse block can work loose after the initial install. I had to go back and re-tighten them after a little while. Only had to do it once, they were good after that.

Consider straightening this run of wire out. A very tight radius circle like that can result in a wire failure at that point if left long-term, mostly due to the degredation of the insulation as it can't handle being stretched that much over a long time.

I used heavy duty Velcro to attach the frame. I have never used the PC-8 fuse panel before but I have another brand on my other ST, on this ST it is mounted on a bracket that was made to go on the back of the bike. With the fuse panel mounted there you have to remove it to get to any of the components behind it and I was never happy with it there and that is why I chose the side like I did on the new ST. I do check the screws on the wires every once in a while and will do the same on the new ST. I will straighten out that wire.

Replaced the ECM... 2004 ST1300 purchased from original owner who had just had a complete service (all fluids) fresh tires and battery... 9.7K miles... BUT it suffered from the dreaded code 26!

Went to my kids highschool parking lot after hours and practiced u-turning. Getting better at it, but not as good as the pros yet.

Also testing new Sena Prism Tube WiFi helmet cam.

HEADS UP DISPLAY ??????? from which vendor?????

Got clear lenses from Ad Ploeg, bought the bulb kit from lightenupgrade and fitted them today, excellent quality of lenses. Wiring kit was a little fiddly but just took my time. Very happy with results.
As well you should be. :D Looks really good! Time and money well spent! Ad did an amazing thing taking on this project. It's great so many 1100 owners are taking advantage of it.

the motor in the safari van gave up the ghost some time ago and now the frame is going bad on my club wagon so i left henry's after 4hrs to go see if i could find something i wanted to drive this winter. i drove the club wagon home and got the Mighty ST 1300 and rode out us-12 to check out a few dealerships. i stopped in Ypsilanti, MI for a few pic's then i rode to Ann Arbor before making it over to m-14 and heading home 20211109_134917.jpg20211109_135311.jpg20211109_135754.jpg20211109_135803.jpg20211109_140023.jpg
