What did you do with your ST1100/ST1300 today?

Would others use this for $16.00? It does not say silica free anywhere on the bottle?

Found this one. States it's silica free. This is what I will use, and it's BLUE like my bike. Now that's getting picky!!!!!!

The Honda dealer says you can only get 50/50 mix. After you figure on about $1.00 for half distilled water, the coolant is actually double the cost. I'd say we're getting hosed everywhere you can't buy concentrate. I just did a flush and refill and I had to look high and low to get concentrate, but I did find some... $20 for a gallon of straight antifreeze and then $2.30 for a gallon of distilled water

Yesterday, I was finally able to use my new No-Mar tire changer. The front tire of the 2010 :bl13: has been running with a wormy plug in it since I picked it up from Brett's three months ago. I didn't want to ride up to WeSTOC with that plug in it. I changed out the rear tire today.

So, I have a little clean up to do on the :bl13:, before heading up to WeSTOC, but on the most part, it is ready for the trip! :)

Had a smell of coolant for about a year. Finally bought thermostat and o ring. Read a bunch on this forum, spoke with igofar and tracked it. Popped in the new Honda stat. Cleaned all hose ends, tightened the 5 hose clamps lightly as suggested.
Cleaned and flushed the rad. While I was at it I flushed all brakes as well along with flushed the rear preload. Like alot of others my rear preload only had a table spoon of oil.
Took my baby for a 6 hour ride today. No more smell of coolant!!!!!! Rides better too.
I think it takes longer to get up to 3 bars now. 10 mins of driving. Is that normal?

I find ten minutes of riding time to get to three bars is long. Takes a little longer when just idling stationary, but when riding it should get there fairly quickly at warm ambient temperatures that I presume you are experiencing at this time of year. At this time of year I hit one bar after about one minute. I would say less than five minutes of riding time I am at three bars.

Went for a loop ride along Angeles Crest to beat the heat. Stopped at the defunct Newcombs Ranch to stretch the legs. Happened a film crew was shooting a commercial for the new Lucid Air Dream edition electric car. Spoke to some of the Lucid team, very nice people (very nice car, 0-60 2.5 seconds) willing to talk, especially a 30? year old 'kid' from the UK just arrived in the States. Our bikes were filmed in part of the shooting. Most likely, they are already on the editing room floor.
Also met and talked at some length with a CHP Officer providing traffic control. (Not really necessary during the week as only a handful of vehicles on the road.) Nice guy, he rides a Harley! ;)IMG_5569.JPGIMG_5570.JPG

Rode about 145 miles today to visit a friend and help him with his Sena 50S communications. Then we rode to a hotdog place and had chilidogs for lunch. Nice uneventful day but was topping 91 degrees by the time I got home.

Rode about 30 miles round trip to the closest Dunkin Donuts for a dozen!

First low humidity morning we've had for a couple weeks here in Oklahoma, America.

Rural back roads on the way there, and I-40 on the way home.

These bikes sure are smooth at 70+ mph.
