What did you do with your ST1100/ST1300 today?

Did a rebuilt of front fork. Steering now feels absolutely different like night and day)

Now thinking about replacing rear shock absorber. It is quite a problem to find aftermarket one. What is load rate of a standard showa device? Maybe it is possible to find something similar...
Yesterday I was reviewing a thread (forgot which one, it happens all the time) about rear shock replacement, and many are pleased with their Wilbers shock. They're made in Germany, so I thought that would be closer to you. I found their website, maybe it's available in Europe for not too much?

Got my new T31 equipped wheels back onto the 1991 this morning. I wanted to repaint the fork lowers and but the garage temps rapidly approached heat stroke by 9 so I just put it all back together. Will give them a test ride in the morning.

Added PowerWerx USB port to front left pocket, installed the Honda voltmeter/relocated headlight adjuster, clip flip handlebar riser mod and Fuzeblock FZ1 in tail section.

A little stress test for Brego (and I guess myself) today.
Did an 8hr, 600km ride in 31 degree Celsius and 70%+ humidity for a « feels like » temp of 41. Three wonderful bars the whole journey and I figure it will be December before he cools down. Not a whimper or drop of power, nothing. Just a smooth ride. The pilot however, well that’s another story. I think the bike faired better, ouch!
I’m impressed. Never rode a motorcycle this long in weather this hot, I guess never had one that could. I figured the ST was capable from reading all the post of riders doing as much if not more in even hotter weather, I just needed to check that box myself for MY ST. Box checked!

Three wonderful bars the whole journey

You only stop in three different bars, in eight hours ?

:yr1:

How long did you stay in each bars ?

Wow ! Not bad looking for a thirty years old bike.
I like the sport look with the short windshield, no back rest / top case, and the slimmer stock seat.

Started flushing my clutch circuit, wow the reservoir was full of nasty golden brown crud, now wondering if this is the first time in 20 years.
After refilling it once, decided to syringe as much as I could out and wipe the inside. Refilled and resumed the flush but now I need more DOT 4, still aways to go!

Had both ST's passing the MOT

Attempted to replace front pads on the '00 and found the brakes slightly dragging...
So heating up the ultrasonic, out with the fluid, off with the calipers, clean everything thoroughly, new seals in, lubricating the pins and all works like new again ;)

It's all about details...

Quite easy with the proper tools...

Got a new one, or at least one I haven't read about.
1991 seat looks relatively new...no scuffs, no rips. I cleaned it yesterday and noticed a small white patch about where a left side wallet would cause pressure. The white spot was where the black color was worn off. Covered it with black shoe dye. Made it through a short ride, and didn't stain my jeans. Not yet anyway.

I finally got around to buying a thermostat and o ring. I have been smelling coolant for about a year now, but very little change in the reserve coolant tank. I have all the tupperware off. Tomorrow evening I will complete the job. Flush the coolant system, clean the reserve tank, and rad, snug up the hose clamps. I WILL NOT OVERTIGHTEN THE RAD CLAMPS!! i will clean the metal parts that connect to the hoses. Now my question is what type of coolant to buy tomorrow? I am sure I read a type of Prestone to use. I refuse to go to Honda to buy it. I just paid over $70 for stat and o ring! Let my forum search begin.
