Mr. Donaldson - R.I.P. 10/15/2014

Whenever I managed to get out to a STOC event that Bob was also attending, without fail, he would always be one of the first to come out to welcome me with his warm smile and firm handshake. Bob will always have a warm spot in my heart and will be remembered, along with other departed riders, whenever I am out there riding through those special places.

Godspeed Bob...

I can find no more words than what has been said here, other then, Rest is peace my Friend, and Fellow Soldier. I salute you.

Words fail me...(I know the makes you laugh Bob)...R.I.P. dear friend...

Re: Prayers needed for my buddy, Mr. Donaldson

Thanks Karen....Mac knows he made the right decision, just as Bob knows he was on his way. Only the body is gone...the energy that is Bob remains..He will smile, laugh, and ride with us forever!

I hope and pray that Bob's family can find peace in all of this, often we do not understand God's plan for our lives. Bob was without a doubt as fine a gentleman as I have ever known, a friend to all. R.I.P. sir.

Gary

Awww, Goodbye Bob

I think he may have said goodbye to me at NatSTOC...
he told me it was his last NatSTOC
We sat in silence for a bit (You know how hard that is for me ;) )

What a nice man

RIP, my friend.

Deba came to the garage crying this morning. I knew immediately. Bob was among her favorites of all the folks who have visited. Here's a farewell shot from his visit back in March this year. I have several similar from earlier visits. We all know he's still riding. IMG_0021 (1280x960).jpg

I will be ordering a new tag for STOC Memorial package.

I had only known Bob for the the last couple years but he definitely left an impression on me. Even though it's sad to have him gone from our midst I think about how he kept his face into the wind right up until the end and as a life long motorcyclists I can only hope the same for myself. RIP Bob.

Well, sadly I never got to meet Bob... he sounds like a really great guy. Prayers for his family.

I didn't know Bob well...Just a few words in passing now and then at STOC events if I remember correctly...I do remember meeting him I believe it was UP's Mansfield RTE in 2012..Again just a few pleasant moments of casual conversation...I think he was on the red "Wing" then...I do remember him being a quiet respectful gentleman and I wish I had known him better...The world would be a better place with many more Bob Donaldsons..I think maybe Bob was a Vietnam veteran?....If he was then another brother has left my life...If he wasn't then another fellow soldier has found peace with his creator....No more hot LZs Bob...."He who has shed his blood with me is my brother"...RIP Bob

Bob was the best!!! We rode, camped, laughed and joked together. I'll miss him as will the rest of us. We had the loan of him for at while; now he is able I breathe and is out riding with Terry and Putt.

..I think maybe Bob was a Vietnam veteran?.
Bob seldom would talk about his service... he was a highly decorated Vietnam veteran. Did the United States Army proud... he just did not broadcast it, so not many knew about it. There is an old saying, "Still Waters run deep". This was Bob... behind that still, quiet man was a true hero.

I feel privileged to have been counted as one of Bob's friends. He had a ton of them. He was such a great guy to visit with. I was amazed at how many events I would see him, regardless of distance. Even when he wasn't doing so well he still showed up at Dinkie STOC. The man had class! I'm really going to miss him. Rest in peace my friend.

Bob was one the most genuinely nice people I have ever known. He touched so many hearts and truly left a positive mark on this world. I always loved seeing his smiling face at events. So thankful I got that last hug at DinkieSTOC. Our loss is Heaven's gain. Many prayers for his family. I know their pain.
I'll just echo Dana's thoughts... I am so glad to chat with Bob for a long while at ArkanSToc. He always greeted me with a hug, pat on the back, and a big smile... RIP Mr Donaldson, Oh, how you will be missed... God must know how a gentile soul you were and let you just fall asleep in his arms... Godspeed, Bob...

I am saddened at Bob's passing. He was on the short list of genuinely good riders I wanted to get to know better. Be at peace, Bob.

We are left with the memories of a good man! Bob, it is obvious, you will not be forgotten.
Rest in Peace!
John

Bob was a great guy, and I will miss him. I'm so glad I got to spend some time with him at NatSToc in Spearfish, SD, even though we had attended several events together. I'm a better person for having known him, and the world is a little less bright with his passing.
