LED headlights

I did this last night. it was all the way up and the low beam was still below where I would like it.

I ended up using the big adjustment screw to raise mine to where they needed to be. Easiest to do with the left side tupperware off. Or, the right size hex key (8 mm? I think) on a long extension rod.

OK, soooo just order these and take out the old ones and put these in their place?
Yes. Just maybe easier said than done. When removing or installing the rubber sockets from/into the dash it's possible to squeeze threm too much and squirt the bulb out of the socket into the reflector assembly. Gum wire tape or magnetic wand may be needed for retrieval.

Pro Tip 1: don't do that – DAISNAID.

It's also possible to seat the bulbs too deeply into the sockets. Then they don't work.

Pro Tip 2: Turn on the IGN to check the operation before putting it back in the dash.
Pro Tip 3: Observe Pro Tip 1

Some riders have just reached in and pulled the socket out. Others have pried it out while chanting expletive mantra. Still others have removed a bit of Tup – the inner cowl I think.

I don't know if those LEDs are polarity sensitive or not. If so they may not work when first inserted in the sockets. If that's the case just pull them out and rotated them 180º and put them back in. LED bulbs that aren't polarity sensitive won't care which way they sit in the socket. Just remember to check the depth as well if they don't light up either way.

Night 2 review... Love them, I have them dialed in now. Mad I didn't get these before.
Love going site seeing at night now LOL...
The dims show so much of the sides of the roads I was amazed.
I dialed them up and got flashed a couple of times on dim. So I took the dial on the dash and lowered one setting - no more flashing from on-coming motorists but still very good for me. The brights are like having driving lights attached. Unbelievable. Remember you are hearing this from a guy that has had the OEM halogen headlights for the last 10 years.
I highly recommend this upgrade.
Thanks to everyone for keeping the LED headlight thread in the spot light. ( pun intended).. I know it sounds like I am :beatdeadhorse:

I used the Sylvania LED marker lights from my local Autozone. The color matches almost perfectly with my Eviteks.

Bump.... :bump:
Got my 912 marker lights in the mail today. Just need to put em in.
I really would like to go full LED on my bike. Anybody done that?
How about turn signals / brake, running lights?

Mine is full LED. Just get the flasher for the LED’s and swap out the bulbs.

The switchback turn signal farkle is awesome. It really updates the front end. Check out the switchback thread in Lighting & Visibility for all the info. And when you do that you might as well change the rear too.

This thread will have everything you need to know about the switchbacks.

Hey ST11ray. on the position lights. the service manual says pull out the position light and replace the bulb then install the position light back. Is it really that simple? do they just pull out or do you have to twist them?

Can you please post updated links to the tail lights and or running lights you put in the back? The links in the other thread - one of them is outdated.
Thanks for all your help.
This thread will have all the info for the brake and tail lights.

My links would be old as I did mine several years ago. You should be able to find some newer links in the latest threads. I got my tail and brake lights from JDMastar I believe. They were 7443’s.

I have with exception of the position lights which I'm keeping as is for the time being.
