Itchy Boots

I'm a couple episodes behind, but have already heard.

We'll have to wait and see what she does for content during her recovery...

Not fun, my wife broke hers in our accident, nearly 2 years ago and it still bothers her.
As far as IB, im surprised it has taken her this long to get hurt.

Damn, once she finally made it home to the Netherlands, they punctured her lung during the surgery! She had to be hospitalized for some time. Yeaouch! Tough lady!! Announced her book will be out soon (in Dutch, hopefully an English version later). Also mentioned a new ride for season 8 in Oct.

For those that are weak in the Dutch language, turn on CC, closed captioning, and in settings turn on auto translate, in your native language. Explains the book title, "Turning Point" She was broken.

I thought what happened was interesting...and tragic. One would expect better medical care in the Netherlands than in a hospital in a small town, yet the Dutch surgeon was, at best sloppy in not checking her lung before closing. I asked a medical resident friend and she said the apex of the lung is right up there near the collar bone, so it is not surprising it was nicked in the surgery.

If you're on Noraly's email list, you'll learn the doctor also missed the fact her big toe is broken.

Hence the pain in her foot that wouldn't go away.

Unless she complained about foot pain when she was in Africa, it is unlikely a doc would have xrayed her foot, and that would have carried over to the Netherlands. When I skidded my ST to ground, the ER docs xrayed my lower leg (ankle hurt) but missed the fibula fracture about 3/4 of the way up. The orthopedic PA said they often see fib fractures in any kind of impact to the foot - you would expect the ER docs to know that. An ER doc friend said 'we are good at finding the life threatening stuff, other injuries, not so much'.

I have to wonder if they have two tier medicine in the Netherlands. If you can pay for it you can get medical attention pronto, rather than working thru the system.

Thanks for the YT videos, Ron and Robert! Much appreciated. Interesting to finally hear her “Turning Point” story. I hope the book gets translated soon.

Hey John, my name it Ben. I've been trying to send you a private message but it hasn't been work for me but I've been told that you manage a kit to help people replace the alternator on st1100s. I was wondering if it's available or if not when it might be available?
