How fast have you had your ST?

140 on highway 111. Will never do such a STupid thing again. My adrenaline started pumping and Im lucky I didnt crash!

According to the December Motorcycle Consumer News, the measured top speed of the 2007 ST1300 tested was 141.7 MPH. I haven't been close!

ST1300PA is limited @ 122, give or take......

How heavy is the P? I find it hard to believe its total gross weight is as high as a civilian version with a rider and passenger. I have read that the weight of the bike contributes to the "wobble" so I am just curious.

For the OP, I dont know the top speed that I have been, probably just north of 100mph. I have done 90 to 100 mph in sweepers and the bike is as stable as a rock.

Whenever I feel the need for speed, I try and just imagine what it would be like crashing my CBR or ST at the speed this dude is going. Check it out.

The posted speed limit.

That's my answer and I'm sticking to it.

On a side note: We own a performance touring motorcycle and we fully intend to use it as such. Had we wanted to 'toodle' we would have purchased a bike more suited for flower sniffing. Dee and I have, on a few occasions and not the norm, had the ST up to 130 mph fully loaded with no stability issues. It was fun.

And a fine story it is too. You really know how to tell em.

120 only once

I was passing a line of cars and an 18 wheeler. I was ridding with a buddy on his Vulcan Nomad. I was about 100 yards back of him going up a rise. As he topped the hill I saw that he pulled out to pass the group. I grabbed a handfull of throttle and to make a long story short we pulled over to the right lane at the same time. I made up the 100 yard difference and passed all the line of cars in the time it took him to pass the group. Man this bike will move. The bike was completely stable no hint of wabble. I doubt I'll make it a practice. Things just happen way too quickly at that speed.

Many,Many times of 90 to 100. Faster than that, i would need a track day pass!!!

I know we're mostly talking about the ST1100 & ST1300 but my klx250s will get up to 91 mph (gps) down hill with a tail wind. It's a bit nervous at that speed but 70 mph is comfortable if the wind is at my back.

I've topped out pretty much every bike I've owned at least once, all on the same road near my house - it's a 65 mph back road that you can see like 4 miles in front of you with hardly any traffic. All are indicated speeds.
Valkyrie: 140
VFR800: 160
919: 155 - now that was nuts - no shield, felt like 255
ST1100: 145 - I am having a little trouble with high rpm stumbling, I had 2-3 hundred rpms left in top gear but it wouldnt go any further.
I very rarely go beyond 100 mph, these were all "special occassions".

110 indicated w/ hondaline topbox, 120 w/o. I love how effortless it is to accelerate quickly on a big motor bike, but am careful to give myself lots of room while going for triple digit "bursts".

Yesterday someone had my 99St1100 at 135 indicated.
What's that in real world terms, 75?

Clearview Gen.III large, top box

How Fast????

145 indicated pulling up a hill.

120 2up

I have commuted home to/from work at 100-120 for the better part of the trip. But most of the time it is 70-80 (with traffic). I do love to be riding down a back road, drop it into 3rd and be doing 90 when I pass a car.

On a side note: I had my 1979 Yamaha XS650SF up to 105 and that had some wobble to it. On the ST I have only had wobble issues with the windscreen up going in the triple digits. But if the rear preload is cranked in that usually isn't even a problem.
