How fast have you had your ST?

ok...so today, I was out between Comanche and Rising Star (a VERY misnamed town) and the bike just would not get to 140. A bit over 135 indicated and Tha' All She Got Cap'in, she ain't got no more.

I hope this slakes my need to know

OK I am ashamed of my actions and abit scared of the results but on a not so lonely but supposedly safe from radar section of road my ST reached 150 I do not know how accurate the speedo is but the bike was still slowly increasing in speed when I backed off I am sooo ashamed

I just deleted a post about me speed before I hit enter . If I have a "problem " in the future what is posted here could bite me!

One of the laST outings had the Speedo at 135/140. It was all safe and in a controlled area :").
I was STill about halfway back in the pack.

195KM/H= 123 as indicated on the Zumo. Thats a mean feat considering the nature of our roads, ohhh and our speed limit is 62.5 m/h. But nobody really cares about breaking speed limits, and ehhhm, nobody can prove it, if you exceed:eek:: the speed limit even if they wanted to.

155 indicated and 141 on the GPS. It takes a little patience to get the last 3 or 4 mph out of it.

good answer...

On a recent trip to Switzerland I checked my sat nav one night and was amazed to see a top speed of 438mph

Top speed on my ST so far 100 miles per hour. She pull to the right when I took my hands off the bars ;) but no wobble. I'd be happy to be in the 120 mph camp when it's safe to do so... maybe in the daylight with my lights on... :a13:

Top speed on my tricycle - 15 miles per hour down hill.

06 st-1300 139mph on speedo---- on my 09 concours 14 140 in 4th gear , 173mph top indicated and solid as a rock.

sofar I haven't taken it above 130mph, felt solid enough.
And you just got to love how the engine keeps on pulling pretty much throughout the whole rpm range, especially compared to my cbr600f, which really needs to be @8k+ rpm before it really startsto work.
Found out this weekend that riding the st the same way as the cbr on some twisties is a nice way to remove some corrosion on the pegs :)

I owned a, 03 st 1300 abs-04 st 1300 abs- currently a 2006 st 1300 non abs,all of them were done at about 140 mph,in 05 got a 05 gold wing also top out around 140 mph, i still have the o6 st 1300, a 09 suzuki 650 burgman executive,1i7 mph gps speed - a 2009 concoures 14 abs,173 mph ( 164 mph gps) the concours 14 is rock solid at any speed, if you spend any time to amount to anything on a concours 14, you will admit it's a better mouse trap, out of all sport tourers made, it has been the only one compared to the bmw k 1600gt and at $10,000 less it more then holds it's own against it,

This weekend I rode on a relatively quiet piece of German highway (with no speed limit), and took the opportunity to open up the throttle.
Ended up with 145mph on the clock, but according to my GPS the real speed was 138mph. I might be able to squeeze out a bit more if I take of the cases.

new question...how fast have you gone with wifey on board??
160K (100 mph)is about it for me...a little faster with wifey on board though ...its her fault she keeps saying <<go faster>>.
Wobble at high speed?..none
My local honda guy says that we can do away with wobble if we would have the forks adjusted/tuned more frequently.
opinins on that?

120mph today out on I-20...And wile the bike was still wanting to go faster and was as smooth as glass the driver just didnt feel like it. I didnt buy her to run 100+ I bought her to do speedlimit +9 all day.

And she is very good at that!

I recall hitting about 110 passing, but soon slowed down to the posted speed limit. I would rather look at the countryside than looking for cops.
