How fast have you had your ST?

I don't know how far off the speedo is but today I was about 1/2 way up a 1/2 mi. hill doin 60mph when it struck me why not and before I got to the top of the hill I backed off speedo showing 120 mph and the ST showed no signs she was at her limit. I know these are probably no where near the fastest or quickest bikes around but my only other street bike was the PC 800 and to me this ST is sumthin else probably trouble for me

ST1300PA is limited @ 122, give or take......

The first two years of the ST1300P actually lack the speed limiter. One of the agencies with ST-P's that my work services has 2-3 of them that will hit 130+. It's the later models that are equipped with the limiters.

Hm... That would be 2003-2004, right? I have a 2005 and I've topped out at 140 indicated.

NEVER in my life do I feel I'll need to do that again. It was a "hm... how fast WILL this thing go...?" type of moment. No wobble or weave, though.

My Magna supposedly had a 160 top speed, but my balls quit at 125 indicated. That DID have a lot of wobble to it at high speeds...

Whenever I feel the need for speed, I try and just imagine what it would be like crashing my CBR or ST at the speed this dude is going. Check it out.

Please tell me that's KPH and not MPH!!

I've seen this video before years back. It was one of the DUMBEST things that I'd ever seen back then. It's one the DUMBEST things I've seen to date. The other was a kid on a crotch rocket with his elbows on the bars texting away at 60-ish...

At 275 K a hour things get real nervous and I would most likely let off the gas real easy LOL
or so I have read , though not on my ST only 140 per a GPS

130+ considering the speed and trying to keep up with a BMW i couldn't look down to get a top speed but it was slowing down when i had to completely let off... and for those of you looking for a place to get it to near this speed I did it in less than 2 miles (best guess)

I'm one of those that can't keep off the throttle, I have hit 100+ so many times i cant count and I've never felt any vibration. Smoothest bike I've owned but then again I'm a dirt rider.

how fast ? ....

... really, really fast man !

so fast in fact that the white and yellow lines started to blurr :)

then, the afterburners kicked in and I had to hang on for dear life :D

good thing we came to a stop later 'cause the paint was coming off, the rubber burning and the plastic melting !

whew !!!

;)

Thats because my Harley was making so much noise we had to stop to see
if anything fell off !:D

Wow !! What kind of Beemer were you trying to keep up with ?
I've had mine at 125+ on a nice section of car pool lanes here in SoCal. May have gone faster but I stopped looking at the speedo and started paying close, real close attention to my surroundings. The guy that I moved over for earlier started giving me the mad dog "I'm a bad Azz" look so I couldn't let him slide by, by the time I hit 125 he was just a dot in my rear view mirror.

About 132 mph. I've got a speed healer, that's a speedometer correction unit so I feel that is accurate. Drop the windshield and tuck. I've got a 35liter top case. I did get some weave. I've done a tour in Northern CA the past two years with a few buddys. Wonderful roads up there, perfect asphalt, no cars, no cops. Along the Eel and Klamath rivers. Buddy on the FJR says his speedo hit 139, his GPS said 136. Other buddy on the BMW R1100 was left behind. He sold it after that tour. It was also interesting to see how low we could get our instantaneous MPGallon. FJR and I got it down well under 20.

I SAW 160MPH ON MINE TODAY!!!

I wasn't going nearly that fast....Just happened to look down and noticed that the speedo maxed out at 160...:

Maxed out at 160....? Oh, you have one of those slow blue ones. You need a white one. ;)

I've had mine somewhere between 95 and 100 mph and didn't feel the need to push it any higher. Just not in that much of a hurry or willing to accept that much risk.

A few years ago I had my Bandit1200 up to 120mph, that was fast enough.

I always obey the posted speed limt for the road I am on, so I think the fastest I have had my ST is 75??? :D:D

:usflag1:

We all know that a clean bike is faster than a dirty one. If its blue and dirty, it will run slower than a blue, clean one.

True! But even a squeaky-clean blue one only goes up to 160 on the speedometer.
