How fast have you had your ST?

:Reasonable and prudent, Officer."

best answer yet LOL

My st is supposed to hit the 145 mark on the speedo but I once saw a Green ZX14 playing with a Mustang south of town and when the rider looked down it was right near 170 per speedo
I hear tell things get really weird and scare you enough that you will most likely not do that again

Mine has done 142.....no wobble....no officer..new tires and no rain grooves...but it likes 110 alot better and has purred like a kitten at 90 and still gave me 50 mpg on a long haul run. At 330 on the Odometer I chickened out, thought something was wrong and stopped for fuel on that run.

I hit the rev-limiter last night, indicated a little over 150. Felt very solid. Actual speed probably about 140. Maybe it was a speed-limiter, since it can rev higher in the lower gears. It cut in about 8700.

Okay, I was on a trip last summer and after a spirited ride through Gateway Canyon, my GPS showed a top speed of 154. Don't know if that's possible, but my rev limiter has not been bumped in 5th gear since that first incident.

SLC - RNO, Highway 50 through Central Nevada.. Dubbed "The lonliest road in America," for good reason. Ran her up to 125 a couple of times, rock solid, with plenty left in the throttle, but not in my cojones.... I set the Throttle lock on 110 and ran for countless miles with nary an issue... Just pure and smooth...

All speeds below are the indicated values from the speedometer (uncorrected):

80-85: normal freeway cruising in Michigan.
up to 95: normal freeway cruising in Nebraska / short bursts for overtaking elsewhere.
105: only once for a few seconds to ride at true 100 mph.

I get my thrills from acceleration and leaning in curves, not from top speed. I-80 through Nebraska is so boring and long that I'll ride faster than normal just to get out of the state. :)

In your defense, you do live in Ohio. I make sure that I am riding (or driving) at the speed limit in Ohio. Have heard too many stories from friends about getting performance awards for going even 5 over.

I just had the BMV tell me that I'm running out of points on my license. A nice little warning letter reminding me that I've gotten 3 tickets in the past year. :(

It's not. Take the bags off, take the windshield off, raise it up lower it. It's not possible. 140 take a lot of gas and pavement and cold air. and the stars to align properly.

Zumo said 112mph, she felt a little light, but the tires were over 1/2 life so....
I added a Givi to the rear, and that seems to have made the ST just a little bit more ... wiggly...

Oh, WHERE... Wisconsin back country road, new pavement, trees not too close... and a wild hair you know where.....

I vastly prefer fast in the corners, which can be 20mph in some places. Like "The Snake" around Shady Valley, TN, 421 is awesome...

After drinking half a bottle of Jack at a ST event I got her up to 142 indicated on the speedometer. I'm sure glad I didn't hit a deer!
I was a little hung over the next day so I stayed around the campground and puked.

YEAH Solo!!!!!

You are, and always will be, one of the "Fold"

It doesn't matter how fast it goes, or how much noise it makes...........as long as the knees are in the breeze and you're having fun and making memories.

Yup, he was doing 142, I was right beside him until I passed him (on one wheel) to beat him to the bar we were racing to get to before it closed.
