H4 LED - 2018 Evitek, F2 replaces G6

Kewl,
I just sent that email... funny that spiderman302 should 73.... Holding your ticket? either way, thanks for all the info. Hopefully I can get these original bulbs out and make the headlights shine the way I need them too. After adding PSR brackets and a pair of LED spot lights, the actual headlights look more like marker lamps because of how dull they are!

Thanks
Michael

One more question..... to shim or not to shim for the ST1300? And if it is shim.... any suggestions on who to purchase them from. I have yet to stick my hands in there so I am truly a newb. I hate surprises..

THANKS.

No shims are needed on the 1300.

No shims are needed on the 1300.
Ah... What?... ah.. see what a difference a comma makes:
No shims are needed on the 1300 = The bike does not ever require shims.
No, shims are needed on the 1300 = The bike utilizes shims.

LOL...

@k2mpw the ST1300 DOES use a shim over bucket design.

the ST1300 DOES use a shim over bucket design.

... but not for the headlights, I think.

And I thought it was shim UNDER bucket for the valves. Have I had it wrong all this time? Should I be moving the shims so they sit on top of / outside the buckets? :)

I *just* (30 minutes ago) finished putting everything back together after completing the 64,000 mile valve clearance check. (All good, by the way). Sure hope I don't have to tear back into it to move those shims around.

I need to walk away from the computer...

I was thinking about valve checks.. sorry for MY confusion...

No headlight shims needed for the ST1300!!!!!~ o_Oo_Oo_Oo_O

The LED bulbs should make a perfect match to the road spots.... I just got done playing JR machinist making a bracket for a latching push button to turn the spots on or off... Gotta Luv Home Depot.... I'm just a fair weather rider waiting for roads to dry up. May be able to sneak in a test ride tonight now that the heat wave is broken... The ST sure can roast them coconuts in hot weather!

Cindy is $13 cheaper on shipping than the quote I got from Alibaba.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Looks like what I got. My ordering process consisted of an email to Cindy telling her I was after the F2s that all my ST1300 buddies were getting. From just that she knew exactly what I wanted. One PayPal transaction 10 minutes later and it was a done deal, though she did follow up with a tracking number.

But she never returned either one of my 2 emails so I ordered from Alibaba.
FWIW, she responded very quick to my query *but* her email was found in spam.

Enjoy the new LEDs. Mine complement fork mounted LED Motolights.

So, I got my Evitek F2's installed tonite, but do not yet have the driver boxes secured or everything buttoned up. I have a caution for folks who are installing these:

The driver box uses a multi-pin connection to the bulb. Make sure you screw the connector's cover cap down before you install the bulb. Otherwise, you may find yourself having to reconnect the bulb to the driver box, in the happy, spacious, cavernous working space behind the cowl. DAMHIKT.

I had kinda secured the drivers but wasn't happy about how I did it. She got naked today so I just HAD to tie her up!

That is some good advice! Something I would have taken for granted. You noticed it as did I, but there may be some who wouldn't. Even though it is a very snug fit, I can see where it could come unplugged due to vibrations and such.

I'm not sure why you wouldn't just buy your bulbs from Amazon F2 Bulbs on Amazon I ordered mine Prime and got them in 2 days. They are called Katana's in the listing but the manual has F2 as the name. These are very nice led bulbs.

The bulbs are generally cheaper when ordered directly from Cindy, since there's no 'middleman'. The tradeoff is shipping takes longer, sometimes a lot longer.

I wonder how well "Cindy" speaks english when it comes to a warranty claim? I bought mine from Amazon for two reasons. The first was that I'm impatient. The 2nd is that IF and when either lamp takes a poop, I'm dealing with Amazon or a seller on Amazon and not someone who is 12 hrs ahead of me every time I send an email.

I imagine the ability of her communication doesn't change because of a warranty issue. How she handles a warranty is a different matter. I don't know as my G6s have probably outlived any warranty claim. I do understand that shipping a replacement would take longer than getting one from an Amazon reseller assuming they're still around after a few months.
