H4 LED - 2018 Evitek, F2 replaces G6

Thanks for the clarification. I many times have done what you have with research or trial and error. Who would have thought, with something the size of a motorcycle, the intense study of something that fits in the palm of your hand could take so long to decide on what and when to get it. Right now, the 1300 has stock bulbs and compared to the HID in the 1100 it is inferior, but I don't want to get another HID system for lighting as it is intermittent with the ballast being able to fire both headlights consistently (shown by a reflection in vehicles in front of me in traffic). In my case it wasn't as bad as having to switch off the ignition and restart, as I made a bypass switch to the ballast and could turn it off and on while the engine stayed running.

When you guys get your F2's and get them dialed in. It is hard to tell how good the lights are under city lights, so take your bike out on a dark isolated road where you see about a mile and kick on the high beam.....

Moddy look at my comments about HID here. I highly recommend the LED for a property not easily seen.

Scaling the Evitek illustration of the F2 lamp it would appear that the 39mm diameter fan housing is around 14mm in depth.
Can anyone please confirm that on an ST1100 the profile of this lamp means that the bails do not require modification for correct installation ?

There should be a box of F2s waiting for me when I get home. Will measure and post dimensions so you do not have to scale a photo to estimate. Can't address the 1100 issue, as my ST is fuel injected. :)

Very close- I measured mine at a hair over 13 mm just now. From the base of the fan to the front (emitter) side of the tab plate is 35 mm, and the tab plate itself is 1 mm thick.

You will not have to modify the wire bail. You will have to cut the rubber boots tho. If not it lifts the bulbs out of the holders. The bulbs rotate to adjust the pattern.

Just pull the bulbs from the holders. Trim holders of the tabs that are in the wrong locations. Install just the holders in to the headlight. (Using H4 adapter rings) Trim rubber boots. Push bulbs into holders. Hook up wiring. Rotate bulbs to adjust pattern. Easy.

eBay has the better price on H4 adapter rings now. Cheap and good quality. Good luck.

Many thanks -- your help most appreciated.

On my ST1100s, I pulled the headlight assembly so I could get a good look at how it all went together. I ended up bending the bale because the fan housing was pushing against it and canting the bulb. But this was with the G2s and it may not be necessary with the newer models. I didn't have to cut the boot and had it all in place when I reinstalled the headlight assembly. I figured I'd spend as much time trying to get it right 'in place' as I would pulling the assemble and doing it on the workbench - and whole lot less frustration doing it on the bench (especially on ABSII models)! ;-)

I'm not following? I did not modify my bail with the F2. Isn't the holder wire under the boot? The rubber boot seemed to fit close enough to keep water out. I mean for a rubber boot that I don't think did anything to begin with that is.

I ended up taking my headlight out as well. I could have gotten away with not but I wanted to fix something else at the same time.

With some time to look over the comparison of the two previous links, they are the same. They just had different font descriptions, but Safego LEDs for 37.00 free shipping, looking forward to it.
