Matt, you evidently did what I did a few years ago, used compressed air to remove the Honda heated grips. The problem is that the heating elements inside the grips are not elastic and will break when the air ballons the grip. The good news is that I was able to buy a replacement Honda heated grip for the throttle side from David Silver Spares. Something like $40 at the time.

Last Wednesday I ordered a replacement from David Silver Spares for around $50 including shipping. Meanwhile, here is what my bike is doing while it awaits the new grip:

Anyone received updates on more G2's being available yet? I have my new Honda heated grips asking me to install them. My fingers are seconding the motion.

Jeff: Did you damage your Symtec element when you removed it?
Did you replace with another throttle side Symtec element?

I didn't try to peel the old one off of my OEM barrel. You can buy the individual elements at Symtec's web site, so I just bought a new one and spliced it in.

Thanks!.. I'll copy this post to the group buy section.

I had a miror problem using BMW grips and Throttlemeister. The tube sent was 6.9mm shorter than the stock tube and with the grips being long the Throttlemeister would not tighten up correctly(earlier post). Gary at G2 sent me a longer tube and even though it was longer than stock there was enough adjustment with the Throttlemeister/ BMW grip combo to work. Gary at G2 was very helpful in getting satisfaction for their product.

I want to try this group buy, but as a semi-literate wrencher, I have several questions. MY ST1300 has BMW grips, but no throttlemeister or heated grips are installed--or planned.

1--Do I order the standard length tube?

2--Will the G2 by itself correct the throttle snatch, or will I need to also add the Turbo Tom FPR?

Thanks

Whatever G2 was selling with their first group buy worked fine with my BMW grips, no throttlemaster.

The new throttle cam seemed like a bigger improvement than the FPR was, but I have both and never tried the G2 without the FPR. The FPR was more noticeable in benefit by eliminating a flat/lean spot at 3500 RPM or so.

Same here.

I have the BMW Grips and put the symtec heated elements on afterwards.

I don't have the TT FPR now but I did on my 05. Just the G2 on my 07 and it made the throttle more precise. IMHO it works as claimed.

Bill,

1 - YES

2 - Install the G2 and see for yourself. Depending on where you think a correction is needed the G2 might do it for you. If not you can still order the FPR.

I already had the FPR installed along with a few other add-ons and the G2 did make a difference as you are first applying the gas.

Just be aware that the coupon code will go in the box located on the webpage that appears after you add the item to your cart. I didn't see that in my haste to go to the checkout so I missed out on the pricebreak. I called up Sam and he mentioned that he'll just send me a check for the difference along with the item when it is shipped. I guess that this also happened to two other guys, so I don't feel quite as lame.:

Tried to order on the website, could not complete my order despite VERY carefully entering all the required info. The stupid system kept saying

"an error occured when processing your payment: Zip / Postal code information is required. (error code 3004)

Funny because the site seemed well equipped to accept Canadian information ,had the ability to figure out shippng by USPS and all. Just would not respond to payment processing. :shrug1:

Well I entered all my info correctly and tried several times...same thing

I sent Sam an e-mail, see if he responds. Frustrating situation. I want in on the group buy !! :04biker:
