Delkevic Exhaust Installed, Nice

But they mount with a big strap! That is what I like about the Staintunes they mount just like the factory cans. No strap/clamp.

I do like that about them, but the $700+ difference for no strap is a deal breaker for me. My brain isn't wired like that. I'd rather get the same functionality and looks with more affordability.

Installed Delkevic slip-ons on the ST1300

Beautiful product, sounds great, subdued, sinister rumble. $309 shipped on eBay! I'll post a video as soon as I make one. I saw a video of one on a European GSX1300 and his were pretty discolored. We'll see if that happens, but the stock pipes turn gold over time, I probably won't mind if they do.

Well I just ran a 500 mile round trip with temps in the high 80,s ,with a combo of stop and go city and turn pike speeds at 75 + 80 mph and no discoloration at all, so far ! averaged about 45 mpg on the trip, and the bike ran great ,but the seat that is another story all it,s own ! I like the Delkevics a whole lot !

hey guys i bought a set of the 14" stubbys with the turn downs.. i was tickled with them first time i fired those babes up .made a 50 mile rounder and was pleased ,then of corse i had to take the baffles out to just see , come on you know what im talkin about , and DANG loved it ... but this is the warning if you take the baffles out your not gonna want them back in i tryed and had to take them right back out ... oh and yes they do get a little louder over a few miles without the baffles but hey i love it my self ...oh and yes even the stubbys go out past the side boxes .. connecter pipe must be a little longer to make up difference....
thanks

I have the 18" and pulled the baffles (actually a pair of plugs) and I also love it, not nearly as loud as I expected.

My only complaint with both my previous ST1100 and my current ST1300 has been that they sound like I'm riding a Kenmore. Just installed my Delkevic's this morning (about 1 hour) and couldn't be more pleased. Aside from sounding great, they look great too! Fit and finish is exceptional. As for the wife, well she's just confused about the whole subject!

Do the Delkevic reduce the heat in the side cases? Are the shorter ones louder if so is it a great amout difference?

Hi , George. I would say the side cases would have to be cooler since the Delkevics have no cats so the Exhaust and heat can escape the pipe a lot quicker ! I have the 18" and I would venture to say they have to be a little quieter than the 14 " ,you have a combined 8" more silencer to go through ! also the 18" seem to go with the size of the bike better, IMHO !

I too bought a pair of 420mm tri-ovals and installed them Friday night. It took a hour or so and I really love the sound. I took the baffles out as well and like the sound better that way. They have a little rumble at slow speed/idle, but the sound is very pleasant at speed. I've noticed that the avg MPG has seemed to raise a little bit over the stock pipes (~2mpg) in around town driving. I thought that I would not like the straps, but they seem to fit in well with the overall look.

I bought mine right from Delkevic and saved almost $30 over e-bay. I was told by Luke @ Delkevic that e-bay charges more for their "fees" so buying them from the source is less expensive.

So far have loved the reviews and price of these slip ons'.
I guess that they are going to be added to the must have list, pending the out come of the new exhaust/noise laws !!
If anyone in Southern Ca. has these installed on their bike.... I sure would like to have a listen as I know the computer speakers can't do them justice.
Thanks,
ex H.D. rider,
Bill

Can anyone compare these with the sound of a stock newer FJR? My buddy's Feejer sounds like a performance bike compared to the ST

The ST will never sound like the FJR ,s Wale of an inline four . But has the V4 growl at Idle and low revs and turns into a purr at higher revs . These Delkevics sound a lot better than I imagined they would and are a great addition to the bike ,in short I like them a lot ,Pluss they look and perform great !

Well, I hope so, as I ordered some last night. Now seriously, when they get here (5-7 days),should I first try them with or without the baffles?

BTW, BTbill, We ride a lot down to north county, maybe we can hook up one day once I get 'em on. Oh, I still ride a Harley (FatBob)

Try both ways. I have baffles in because I have neighbors. Sounds good either way.

Any updates on performance or other issues? Sure am curious how they look with and without the bags installed!

I haven't noticed any performance increases or decreases... I think with the sound you just 'feel' like it's stronger.. I just don't personally think even 5 extra hp would be something you'd notice.. I sure don't...

As for how they look, here you go with bags on/off:

I have these on my ST1100, they came with the bike so I have no idea what the stiock pipe sound like. For me though, I think they're great....just enough burbble, and not tiring. I'm going to leave the baffles in as I have a VTwin with no baffles if I want to ride a noisy bike. The ST1100 should be a little quiet.
I get a regular 50+mpg avg, and doesnt seem to matter how I ride...always 50+mpg
