What did you do with your ST1100/ST1300 today?

Rode 20 miles to a cafe for lunch. Man was it windy. Gusts were moving my bike around a lot but glad I got out before the rain.
 
I started repainting the motorcycle. The old color did not appeal to me, it was necessary to replace one fairing (left upper one) and repair the others. The insurance has expired for this year, so a thorough revision follows.

Took her off the tender; and rode around the corner to the fueling station where I popped the tank, poured in a bottle of stabilizer, and filled the tank. Then I rode a mile up the road to pick up a couple of prescriptions, and a loaf of Italian bread for tonight's dinner. Then home. I figure riding two miles or so got the new mix down into the carbs...
 
I'm a new ST owner.
It was a wet day. So garage. I polished up the exhaust to get some brownish tint out. Removed some cladding, re-routed some electric power add on cables. Repacked the tool kit that the previous owner had left behind. Went over the flaws in the shiny black finish with some light compound, then polish and some wax.
I came back in and ordered myself a phone mount rig.
 
I had a front flat last week so today I slipped on a new continental tire and rode over to the school parking lot and put some time on it.
 
I needed to replace my auxiliary HID lights as they were having issues firing up on my trip home from Maryland on my 07 ST1300. So my new LED auxiliary lights arrived and I needed to change the plug ends as they were different then my old ends of my relayed wire harness.

While I was in there with the main fairings off I decided to take a look at my valves and make sure they were still in spec. I found the #3 cylinder exhaust valves were out pulled the cam and adjusted them. This is my third valve adjustment and I have re-shimmed all exhaust valves now. Not bad for a bike with 258,000 miles on it. :biggrin:
 
Having read so much about SMCs and the value of having a bit of a top E string in order to clear out the compensation port in the various master cylinders, I went hunting.

Eventually I found one. I'd set myself a generous top price, and ended up paying three times what I had in mind.
But what a top E string. Perfect.

The last time I bought myself a guitar was 40 years ago. It's not going anywhere near my ST1300 - except maybe for about an inch of flailing E string.
 
Hmm...

dunno if that counts but I'd to donate some of my ST1100 spares for my GF's NT700VA (AKA ST700...)

All cleaned up, new NT dampers from the shelf, ST bushings from the other shelf though... ;)

Need to restock now...
 
Rode through some weather today , extremely windy with horizontal rain in the night and the Pan just eats it up . Stuck to the road like glue , iv the 1100 st and I said thank you to her but iv gotta post on here because I'm so proud of her performance that I thought I'd share it to the group . Inspired confidence in conditions that promoted squeaky bum time thanks the pan
 
Went shopping. Loaded it up with groceries, and came home. Went out for Chinese. She's back in the carport garage on the tender again. Gonna rain for the next week...

im new to the st1100. im about to do the 40amp upgrade myself but am trying to figure out what all i need in parts. i have the bike taken apart already but not sure if ya just buy the alternator for an 06 and it just fits into the 91's hole
