What did you do with your ST1100/ST1300 today?

Put a plug in my rear tire. New tire 3 months ago

that one doesn't look very good for an eight hundred plus pound bike, call it a hunch. tires are where everything else forgives, sometimes only for a moment.

Pulled the mirror housings off both sides and widened the holes cut in the underside for the driving light mounts; so that I could run the power cables next to the mounts, instead of out the front, which prevented the rubber trim from fitting correctly. I got an unscathed left side housing from a member here, in Tower Silver, so I replaced the badly scraped one the bike came with. The new one had the outer rubber trim, so instead of removing it, I put the trim on the right side. I put on the parts I got from jodog while I was at it.
I also added small wide angle mirrors.
Tomorrow I'll work on the severely oxidized lower panel on the right side case.
Oh yeah, my stickers got here today as well. Sort of a tradition for my bikes.
This bike aims to misbehave...

got tired of sitting around the house so with the three stoogers still on i rode to Belle Isle, stopped on Livernois between Warren and Tireman for a pic of the sky. i made it home without getting wet

I bought a new tow behind trailer for the ST.
Might be a bit big....but it sleeps two.

Has some classic appeal. Should hold it's value.....

About to tear the bike down soon to change fork seals, rear pads and a speed sensor before it's hibernation. I'm going to buy some shock sox, fork skins or seal savers to install this time to hopefully prevent premature seal failure. Not much locally so I may have to rely on Amazon again.
The rear brake pads thickness is 5mm for those who did not know, including me.

Took the old gal out for a spirited ride this afternoon. Destination? Summit of Mary's Peak, tallest mountain in the Coastal Range of Oregon.

Reminds my why I'm reluctant to list her for sale. In many ways a superior experience than the 1300. Though not as many as the 1300 is superior to the 1100. She'll still show me the far side of a buck fifteen however (I wasn't even trying to be honest ).

Well it was a horrible jeep day but Saturday I had a great ride with my ZX14 buddy, out the back way to Hatzic, we had breakfast in Surrey at Fresgo's, could barely find it, surrounded by hi rises, caught up with the man, the myth, the legend, the famous mushroom burger when he had the Denman Vancouver location, had a great chat about old times, all the guys we used to know, I used to fix all his refrigeration and HVAC stuff years ago, my gosh I was like forty and he was like 80... even then! still serves up amazing food, just a great guy and a great place to eat, anyway he said the same thing he said thirty years ago, "tell your friends"

I spent early yesterday finding and repairing a coolant leak at the thermostat outlet hoses. Sprayed lots of yellow crud. Took out the outlet and my buddy cleaned it in his awesome chemical blaster machine. Refit the leaking hoses and used a socket on the hose clamps instead of a screwdriver. No more leaks, and a short but hard ride to confirm it.

Hi @Arkterra. I am trying to replace all lighting on a new to me 2010 ST 1300 with LEDs as fall season starts from tomm. Could you let me know where the relay is that you replaced as I need to do that too to stop the hyperflashing.

I'm not sure where it is on the 1300 but on the 1100 it was under the side cover on the right about where the passenger foot goes. When you replace it for LED's it's a little confusing because the new relay is only 2 pins instead of 3. It's that way because you're going from incandescents to LED's.

The previous owner of my ST was a good friend. He freely admitted that this big might have been a tad too big for him; as he'd dropped it a couple times. So when he died and left it to me, well, let's just say I knew I'd have to do a bit of shopping for a few parts.
What took the brunt of those drops was the mirror housings, and the bar ends.
I waited to the end of the parts sourcing before I ordered a set. Not the stock ends I'm afraid. I'll have to find an inexpensive source for them (I have the right side, sort of) but I did find a cheap set on EBay.
So that's what I did today. I swapped out the one bent to hell right side bar end, and replaced it, and the completely missing left side.
So, just how much vibration do these stock ones dampen?
