Where did you ride today?

Did a triangle today; Calgary to Golden BC, down to Radium Hot Springs and back to Calgary:
<snip>
The ride took about 7 hours with gas stops and a brief lunch break where the bike is parked in the last photo. Not going to lie, my butt and wedding tackle were pretty sore for the last hour. But what a way to spend the day. I actually felt at times that I might be getting the hang of this riding thing. A lot of work left to do but I caught a glimpse of riding capability through the doorway.

I can't tell from the pic what seat you're riding on, but have to ask, is it time for a saddle upgrade?

Cool and overcast day in EO so rode over to my friend’s garage and gloated about my Habbies pushing his Maple Lafs to Game 7 :rofl1:
When the bitching and whining stopped we got to changing the final drive oil and the @Igofar version of the pre-load adjuster repair. Great tip! Thanks.

Two of my sons and I took off on my '12 & '10 ST1300s and rode down Utah Route 56(w) and Utah route 18(s). Turned around and came back same way. 150 miles total!

Dereck, doesn't ride so he rode pillion with me on the '10. Justin rode the '12.

We did have one deer run in front a pickup that was in front of us, but that was the only issues we had.

To celebrate our conditional release in Ontario today from Covid-19 lockdown, took the ST on a extended loop through some of our neighbouring counties in EO. The escape took us through Kemptville, Smith Falls, Perth (fuel and food break supporting local businesses) then south on 10 to Westport where a nasty road renovation project caught us unawares.
It has been the driest May on record in this area and road crews are using water to keep the roadwork dust down and lucky me, I caught the road right after the roadway (packed gravel) was watered. The ST is just a mess but, you know, it only bothered me for a few seconds and then I thought about how nice it was to be riding again.
Continued on 42 and then down through Lyndhurst (they have a quaint, unique bridge in this town that I must check out at some point), then south to the Thousand Islands Pkwy which runs along the St-Lawrence river. Gorgeous today.

It feels good to be tired after a day of riding after a long lockdown.
Also, got to test different settings for the pre-load and damping adjuster. Better today, but not great.

Hi all, well it wasn't today but last week I decided to ride down to California to visit my daughter for a couple of days. She is in the navy and stationed in Lemoore Cali. She left on a 11 month deployment on the Roosevelt Friday June 4th. I rode out of Spokane WA to Redding California the first day Friday, 675 miles, than Saturday to Lemoore California, 375 miles. I enjoyed the stay for a few days. I hit the road back to Spokane WA at 5:00 am Tuesday morning, I rode straight through going through the Stanislaus National forest on the 4, beautiful mountain crossing, up to Boise Idaho than to Spokane. In all it was 1120 miles in 16 hours and 45 minutes. I really enjoyed the trip and the only two things I am going to change on my 2007 ST1300 is some kind of throttle lock and look into some type of highway blades or forward footpegs of some kind. Looking back I should of signed up for an iron butt and kept my receipts and stuff as I would of qualified twice. Be safe out there and go enjoy summer riding.

The only pic I took on the whole trip.20210528_204252.jpg

10 pm here. Still hot and humid. On a ride on the "Laurentian Freeway" 15 north.
Just stopped at "La porte du Nord" (The door to the north) to get a litle Gatorade.
I might continue another hour up to Saint-Jovite / Mount Tremblant.
I like runnin on freeway at night, when it is still warm and less cars on the road.

edit : an hour later : yep, made it to St-Jovite. That church has a very unusual (for here) almost spanish style porch. It reminds me of Santa Fe.

The way back home was fun : for a good hour, not a car, I was alone (going in my direction).
It was forest on both side of the road, and I could smell pine trees, spruce, other forest perfume that I could recognise, but not necessatly identify.

So, almost a four hour ride. Yeah. I like the Corbin seat.

When you get to combine two hobbies. The sun is shining and there's a free aquarium sump 2 hours away. Everything but a pump. Bits and bobbles are in the trunk and side cases.

First true flog of the season. 300 miles Sunday starting in Madison, Wisconsin to meet friends in Milwaukee. Then off to Road America in Elkhart Lake to see the IndyCar race. Then back to Madison. Broke in my brand new tires.

Rode around the Borders with Er'Indoors. A beautiful English/Scottish summers day. Mid 60's, dry roads, sun, coffee and cake. Found some roads I haven't ridden in years in and around Kelso, Gordon, Melrose etc. This is the stop in Kelso Market Place. It will be repeated. Plus found a couple of Honda's parked up.

Stretching Stella’s legs. Springfield MO to Provincetown at the tip of Cape Cod and then up through beautiful New Hampshire ( or Hampshuh as they pronounce it there) and up to Bangor, Maine to visit the hometown and first nice house of Stephen King. I’m one of his Constant Readers :). While in Bangor I had to partake of a delicious lobster roll at one of King’s old hangouts.
2500 miles so far.

How do you eat a "live lobster".
I'm guessing very carefully.
