Where did you ride today?

Hi all, well it wasn't today but last week I decided to ride down to California to visit my daughter for a couple of days. She is in the navy and stationed in Lemoore Cali. She left on a 11 month deployment on the Roosevelt Friday June 4th. I rode out of Spokane WA to Redding California the first day Friday, 675 miles, than Saturday to Lemoore California, 375 miles. I enjoyed the stay for a few days. I hit the road back to Spokane WA at 5:00 am Tuesday morning, I rode straight through going through the Stanislaus National forest on the 4, beautiful mountain crossing, up to Boise Idaho than to Spokane. In all it was 1120 miles in 16 hours and 45 minutes. I really enjoyed the trip and the only two things I am going to change on my 2007 ST1300 is some kind of throttle lock and look into some type of highway blades or forward footpegs of some kind. Looking back I should of signed up for an iron butt and kept my receipts and stuff as I would of qualified twice. Be safe out there and go enjoy summer riding.

The only pic I took on the whole trip.

That is an awesome shot. What are we looking at?

I got a nice little ride in yesterday for the first time in months. I can manage the bike ok 10 weeks post surgery on Achilles repair, but I'm surprised at how tired I was after only 90 minutes on it. Looking forward to hitting some get together now that it's hot as blazes.

Rode to "church" aka hwy 108 over Sonora Pass to Bridgeport. Today over Monitor pass to Markleeville and back to Bridgeport. Heading north over the next week or so, then over to the coast and down Hwy 1 and back home to Livermore.

Nothing remarkable here, but in the interest of pushing this thread to 150 pages... I ride to work today.
Leave early this afternoon for a 100 mile ride to Day 2 of my Harley Davidson Rider Academy recertification class. 3 more days, gets me the opportunity to help more new riders (even if they ARE gonna be Harley riders) learn how to pilot a motorcycle more skillfully, and more safely.
God I love this life!

That sounds like a dream job :)

Sadly, it's part-time.
But yeah, I dig it!
Great personal satisfaction when I see the light bulb go on, and a beginning rider "gets it."

A cool front passed through last evening leaving today's afternoon high in the low 80's as opposed to 90+ by 10am. Wife and I left on a ride right after rush hour and enjoyed the weather. Returned about noon.
Our first 2-up ride on the ST1100 since I installed a new Progressive rear shock. BIG difference in ride. The change also cured a periodic clicking noise I thought was the top box rattling on the bracket. Both the vinyl and nylon bushings on the old OEM shock were still serviceable appearing. I'm suspecting the click was internal to the old shock, probably right next to the broken rebound damperizer.

On the way home heading towards Columbus, Ohio for overnight rest. 3260 miles so far on the tour to Bangor, Maine. STella has been nothing but STellar the whole way :)

Hi all, I left home in Spokane on July 31st and headed to visit friends in Stockton Missouri. Stayed in Stockton for 3 days visiting and decided to go to the Tail of the dragon. rode there and rode the dragon. Set off for home and got home around noon today Aug 13th. Had an awesome ride and went through 21 states and rode a total of 6203 miles. Didn't have a single hiccup with the ST1300. I do wish I had cruise control, I have a throttle lock for some reprieve but it slips and looses speed, but slowly and it does give a bit of rest to the hand. I saw some wonderful places and things along the way. I had alot of time to think about things and I came to the conclusion that when riding a motorcycle something is always wrong, Traffic too slow, weather too hot, weather too wet, roads too flat, not enough curves, things smell funny, sun in your eyes, no sun and too dark, the list just goes on and on. However I wouldn't trade riding a long trip like this for traveling in a car for anything. I guess being out there totally exposed to whatever is thrown at you is what makes one feel alive, I cant think of a better way to travel. 20210802_182923.jpg20210803_084800.jpg20210807_160812.jpg20210809_142545.jpg20210812_080313.jpgScreenshot_20210810-184510_Messages - Copy.jpg

Don't forget your dew-rag

@Waterman28 when did you ride Hwy 129 / the Dragon?
Weekend or weekdays?
How was the traffic while you were there?
Haven't seen it in a handful of years, but I hear it's become a LOT more busy especially on weekends.
Glad you enjoyed your miles!

I did a 100-mile ride on the ST last Wednesday, 1st ride in a couple of months. I'm starting to get my strength back after my radiation treatments, so hope to do some more riding this fall. I haven't ridden the Goldwing in about 3 months, perhaps it's time to sell it and move onto a trike. I am looking at Can-Am Spyders, anyone have one here?

I was at the tail of the dragon Monday the 9th at 2:00. It was very busy I could not ride it fast due to traffic. I even pulled over at a siding along the road and let the people in front of me get further ahead then went at it. I had some good luck for a while when I fell in behind a couple on 501-701 Husqvarna motards. We quickly caught up with traffic though. overall I am glad I did it and bought the tee-shirt but I have rode other rides that are as good or better.

When you can get out there without traffic going your direction, it's obviously more fun.
In parts of the fall or early spring, it's less crowded.
I've been up and back at times when I had my lane all to myself for the length of it, but those days appear to be more rare.

I see the "What did you do to your ST today?" thread is up to 365 pages. Maybe it's time we have an ongoing "Where did you ride today?" thread. It might be nice to hear where and how long other ride when you get a chance to ride.

You ride to work? You go for a short day ride? You just back from a long ride?

We may as well start a thread an tell each other how great any ride we had was when we ride.

I just did a short get out and about 20 mile ride. I rode down Pensacola's Scenic Highway which meanders down the western edge of Escambia bay Florida. Looped back through town and back to the house. The old ST1300 is running fine and the weather was blue skies and near 85 degrees. Great day for a ride.
Round 180 miles with Mrs. Bullett...From Edenville Mi to Tawas and back..Sweet ride I just put up some random pics.
