Where did you ride today?

I have one here around, no need to worry ) didn't have time to find my own picture of bridge on the hard drive, so took it from the internet
This is the game we are playing currently, it's a world wide game so you can play. Go park your bike where you can get both in the picture, post it and find a cool thing for other people to find and post that picture too!!

Not today, but yesterday
Took my 14 plate for a new BT 023 GT
Windy but 20mph gusting to 37mph the forecast said
Also my first experience of the fuel gauge below 2 bars
Started it from cold on two bars
It quickly changed to one flashing bar with a "10"
Quite worrying when the tyre place was 5 miles away
As the bike warmed up the distance remaining increased ending up at 27 by the time I got home
Bike feels a lot better on a tyre that retains air instead of dropping the pressure by half in 5 miles

It increased in miles estimate only because you turned it off and each time you turned it back on it grabbed a "new" calculation. Restarting the bike when it's gone into flashing empty is the #1 reason people run out of gas on the ST1300 myself included. If you turn it off 35 miles into flashing and then turn it back on it WILL LIE TO YOU and tell you there are more miles left than is possible. Mine usually tells me there are about 40 miles if I turn it on into flashing.

You got fumes in there and need gas soon.

I'm not in club that thinks you need to fill before it gets flashing. I run mine down to fumes often just I do try to pay attention at the end and fill up before it quits.

I finally found a simple old fashion horse drawn wagon today on the interwebs for another game picture. It was at a "wedding barn" for the new couple to sit upon and have photo's made. It also had a 40 to 50 lot drive thru type campground for 5th wheel type campers. It was a bit strange, if you could throw a rock 1000 feet you would hit a rather large prison! I guess the camping would be OK but not to sure the wedding barn is much used. 30°38'58.6"N 86°57'04.6"W

Decent ride, I left the house in medium fog with 66° and very light rain but as I went east the fog cleared out. I got my picture and headed south for a stop at Navarre Beach. I made it 6 miles and it looked like hard rain ahead so u-turned it around and headed back west into the fog. 90 miles maybe for the day.

The sun was shining and the temps were around 48F-49F and the BEST part was that the roads were dry with a few spots where melting snow on the sides was washing across cleaning off the pavement.

So I went for a ride... FINALLY. No need for heated grips with just the handlebar muffs being plenty to keep my hands toasty warm. I did still wear my Turtle Fur neck gator and one layer of insulated liner in the jacket. Rode about 30 miles. Temps stayed steady all around.

Since the AK had been sitting for almost 4 weeks with Sta-Bil in the tank. I knew it would sit for a while due to the big snowfalls we received. Today the AK was reluctant to start on the first try. It took 4-5 tries to get it to fire up. The AK has a safety cutoff in the starter circuit so that if the voltage drops below 11.6 vdc WHILE attempting to start it the starter cuts out. I did have it sitting on the BT Jr all this time. The battery was in between a recharge and drain cycle. IOW the BT Jr. turns off when the battery is fully charged and comes back on when the battery drops to a certain level. I don't ever just hold the starter button until it fires up anyway to avoid the risk of flooding the engine but rather do several short bursts. But a few times the voltage did drop under 12 vdc and the starter cut out and after letting it sit for 10-15 seconds the voltage went back up for another try. After it started it ran just a bit rough for a minute or so and then smoothed right out to normal running... but I did see a check engine light on the dash which stayed on for the entire ride. Everything seemed to be running fine at that point and I was suspecting either bad gas or the Sta-Bil was old. I did have that bottle of Sta-Bil for 3-4 years and that is past the normal expiration for the stuff. At the end of the ride I stopped to fill up with fresh gas. The check engine light stayed on for the 1.5 miles home. But after I shut it off, put it on the center stand, and started the engine again. It fired right up without hesitation and there was no more check engine light. So I'm certain my initial thought is correct... bad gas or Sta-Bil. I've had the AK sit for this long once or twice last year with no issues starting so I'm going with that.

So far this year all my rides have been at temps above freezing. I filled the tank at the beginning of the year and then again today. So far my mileage is 52.5 mpg for riding mostly in temps that were in the 30sF.

We rode about 190 miles round trip. Left Zolfo Springs at 58’ and to the north side of Ortona lock and dam. We watched a 40’ catamaran lock thru. Boat was going from Indiantown “on the hard” (out of the water) going to go to Souix Falls South Dakota via the rivers. 74.8 degrees down south today. We camped 2 nights with lows around 44.

Thanks for the awesome picture

I do agree ,honda has made many good looking bikes over the years, but my favorite is The St1100.

Second Uncle Phil, I think the ST1100 is the best looking bike Honda has made.

@PhotoDoctor it's not mine but it seems he stole it for a song and dollar and rides it pretty hard now. It kept up with a 1250RT and a brand spankin new 1250RS just fine.
