Where did you ride today?

Just to work but the rain was worth it for this pic......jpg
Green is a retired King Co. Sheriff bike owned by the fellow who let me test ride his 03 which led to my '10. The red is another guy who was convinced he needed one by the guy who convinced me.
Yes, all three are running Michelin PRs.

Rode to Downieville, zero cars on hwy-49 (very unusual), weather was great, low60’s morning-78° on the ride home. Brought a sandwich and had lunch next to the Yuba River in town. Really liking my ST1300 i just acquired, wife likes it too, so far I dont miss the ‘06 Goldwing.

Many here follow Itchy Boots. If you recall, in her first season, she rode central Asia. She crossed from Tajikstan into Krgyzystan on the highest pass in the old Soviet Union. It is some 15,000 ft. She crossed when it was rainy/snowy and very cold. After seeing the road going down, I have a whole lot more respect for her riding. Even though it was relatively dry when we crossed 2 days ago, drainage water runs down the road and turns the red clay soil into very slippery mud and there are about 10 switchbacks on the way down.
This is the view from the top, just after leaving Tajikstan.

Started off as a breakfast run to the Fulton Store today. After breakfast I decided to enjoy an awesome day and road down to White Pines State Forest. I played adventure bike there as 2 streams cross the road. With all the recent rain it was a bit deeper than expected. Water was up to the pegs. That was only part of the fun. The road was very slick and as soon as you touched the throttle the rear end broke loose. Fishtailed across the stream laughing my ass off as I did. From there headed along the Rock River on Route 2. Traversed the corn fields after that till I got home. Just shy of 350 miles. Nice ride to eat!

I did a four state ride over to Louisiana and back to make a tag game drop. Great day for a ride with temps from 68 to 92f.

I'd also like to thank Canada for sending all the free wildfire smoke clear down here most of the day yesterday. I thought it was moist air off the Gulf water since I was only 0 to 20 miles inland yesterday but the news girl said it was Canada fire smoke. Pretty strong haze at some places.
